  • Enjoy this video to relax your mind and body. In Buddhism, chanting is the traditional means of preparing the mind for meditation, especially as part of formal practice (in either a lay or monastic context). Some forms of Buddhism also use chanting for ritualistic purposes.
While the basis for most Theravada chants is the Pali Canon, Mahayana and Vajrayana chants draw from a wider range of sources.

This is so beautiful, but I can't help but feel heartache for the Tibetan monks who have been tortured, self immolated out of protest and desperation, and these historic monasteries so full of peace that have been burnt to the ground. May these people find peace, we should all be grateful for these people who have dedicated their lives to create such magical chants and soothing sounds. pray for them, meditate for them, send your positive and loving energy to them, they will not be forgotten.

At Svaha, Sovha is victory for those who have served for the purpose of balance, fulcrum and equilibrium for all life, and not for the blood heathenous.

I believe what is being chanted in the background is: "OM gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhisvaha" roughly meaning "Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone altogether beyond, O what an awakening, all-hail." It is the "great bright mantra, the supreme, incomparable mantra" at the end of the Heart Sutra from the Prajnaparamita texts. The Heart Sutra is used throughout the Mahayana traditions, but is especially revered/used in Chan/Zen Buddhism.
The Heart Sutra is often said to be the best known and most popular Buddhist scripture.

It's so nice to listen to an authentic Tibetan chant video. On TH-cam there are so many fake Chinese versions using instruments that Tibetans don't even use. So I really appreciate you uploading this video :)

This is Prajna Paramita Mantra (The Heart Sutra Mantra)!!!
Sanskrit : Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!
English: Gone, gone, gone beyond, and gone far beyond, Enlightenment
    __()__

    • @hoananqn
      @hoananqn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

this is full the Heart sutra mantra:
      Avalokiteshvara
      while practicing deeply with
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore,
      suddenly discovered that
all of the five Skandhas are equally empty,
      and with this realisation
      he overcame all Illbeing.
      “Listen Shariputra,
      this Body itself is Emptiness
and Emptiness itself is this Body.
This Body is not other than Emptiness
and Emptiness is not other than this Body.
The same is true of Feelings,
      Perceptions, Mental Formations,
      and Consciousness.
      “Listen Sariputra,
      all phenomena bear the mark of Emptiness;
their true nature is the nature of
      no Birth no Death,
      no Being no Nonbeing,
      no Defilement no Immaculacy,
      no Increasing no Decreasing.
      “That is why in Emptiness,
      Body, Feelings, Perceptions,
      Mental Formations and Consciousness
      are not separate self entities.
      The Eighteen Realms of Phenomena
which are the six Sense Organs,
      the six Sense Objects,
      and the six Consciousnesses
are also not separate self entities.
The Twelve Links of Interdependent Arising
      and their Extinction
are also not separate self entities.
      Illbeing, the Causes of Illbeing,
the End of Illbeing, the Path,
      insight and attainment,
are also not separate self entities.
      Whoever can see this
no longer needs anything to attain.
      “Bodhisattvas who practice
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
see no more obstacles in their mind,
and because there are no more
      obstacles in their mind,
      they can overcome all fear,
      destroy all wrong perceptions
      and realize Perfect Nirvana.
“All Buddhas in the past, present and
      future by practicing
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
      are all capable of attaining
      Authentic and Perfect Enlightenment.
      “Therefore Sariputra,
      it should be known that
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
      is a Great Mantra,
      the most illuminating mantra,
      the highest mantra,
      a mantra beyond compare,
      the True Wisdom that has
      the power
to put an end to all kind of
      suffering.
      Therefore let us proclaim
      a mantra to praise
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore:
      Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate,
      Bodhi Svaha!”

this is from The Gyuto Monks Tantric Choir: Tibetan Chants for World Peace (White Swan Records; U.S. release: September 23, 2008), a collection of The Gyuto Monks Tantric Choir’s chants, "..some of which have never been heard outside the walls of the Gyuto Tantric Monastic University, until they were recorded by Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart." The Gyuto Monks Monastery was of course originally in Tibet, but after communist China invaded in 1959, had to be re-established in Dharamsala, India.

what it means [interpretation not translation] = om (the sound of forever signifying something continuous) gate gate (beyond, beyond) para gate (so beyond) para samgate (so completely beyond). boddhiye (buddhi is the higher mind so theyre saying the ego is completely zero meaning you have no more concept of who you are or your body or any mental construct of self and the intellect is no longer chattering the mind is silent, so the higher mind called buddhi takes over; you are plugged into the eternal, infinite, big you that is creation itself, you are the child, the man, the woman, all of them, the trees, rocks, earth, universe, love itself, life itself) soha is tibetan pronounciation of swaha sealed or so be it complete surrender to the absolute.

what "does it mean? The sound of om, that continuous sound? The word buddhi is of a higher state of mind, so the auther is saying the ego means nothing completely. Otherwise meaning you have no more concept of who you are, or your body is, or any other mental construct of your self, that your mind is no longer chattering all kinds of thoughts, and wth that, the mind becomes silent, so your higher state of mind called "buddhi" takes over; you are plugged into your infinite spirit, your higher spiritual state that is like creation itself, you are the child, the man, the woman, all of them, the trees, rocks, earth, universe, love of yourself, love of life itself.

When truth is spoken it only resonates to the one searching for the truth. This music will either do it for you or it won't. I find it to be mind blowing and seriously penetrating. Its primordial tempo and chanting is perfectly timed by the bowl being struck. Use ear phones, turn off the light and let it flow right through you. To some it will invoke fear and to others it will seam obtuse. For the ones that this does not effect it is perfectly fine as well..
Remember " The glass is already broken, so cherish each moment and every sip"

    - Thank you for your musical effort. Let me dream about something : if I could go from school to school and talk just for one hour to the children and teacher there to show them the tibetan bowl, and how easy it is to play with the sounds of the bowl and FEEL how deep peace can enter in us that way... deep enough to stay in us for a while and giving us the ability to think differently, allowing us to multiply many other occasions of peace moments and actions around us...
If I could go from school to school I would take my bowl and do it STRAIGHT AWAY !
