About Noel Gallagher:
Noel Gallagher was the main songwriter, lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of Oasis, one of the biggest and most loved bands ever to emerge from the UK. His band played a tremendous role in shaping and inspiring contemporary guitar music from the 1990’s onwards. Noel’s continued success with the High Flying Birds cements his position as one of the most prolific and successful British songwriters of the last 50 years.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds first emerged in 2011 with their eponymous album released in October of that year. The album went double platinum in the UK and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.
This was followed by ‘Chasing Yesterday’, released in March 2015 - the first album to be produced as well as written by Noel.
A third album, ‘Who Built The Moon?’, was recorded with renowned producer and composer David Holmes in Belfast and London, released in November 2017. There followed a series of multi-genre EPs released over the course of 2019 and 2020, all receiving
high critical acclaim.
June 2021 saw the release of ‘Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021)’ - a Best Of celebrating a decade of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. This was the band’s fourth consecutive Number One album and the 12th Number One album across Noel’s career.
The highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Council Skies’, was released in June 2024. The album includes the singles ‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Easy Now’, ‘Council Skies’ and ‘Open The Door, See What You Find’

When he was touring with this album, I remember it just being dark as Fort Knox was playing, then he comes in with this tune. It was insane, and unreal to see Noel live. This song set the tone for the show! Man… just unreal thinking about it! The times I have seen him live, he as done Supersonic, and Go Let It Out. Def recommend seeing him live if you can!
Best single he's done for ages. If you're under 40 & don't like glam rock you quite possibly won't like it; if you're over 40 or you love glam you'll love it. This is a great blast from the past, it's up tempo & great fun. Clever song from NG, tapping into his (& my) youth.
David Martin not entirely valid. i'm less than 40, i absolutely loathe glam rock but i still think this is a FUCKING MEGA tune. it sounds really anthemic...and for one i'm grateful Noel gets to experiment with different sound layering

I've listened to this band so much around my kids, and now my 2 1/2 year old son loves them. The other day, Dream On came on and he ran into the kitchen where the speaker was and looked up at it for a few seconds and then started spinning in circles.
I can't understand why so many people criticize this tune, if it's for the lyrics or for the music itself, but, to me, this a very entertaining and enjoyable song! Nice job, Noel

Eheheheh no worries, no list needed here! I get your point but it's not unusual hearing people concerning about Noel Gallagher stealing riffs or inspirations to create his own stuff. Anyway, that was not my point. I was just trying to understand why loads of people need to shout its hate or anger about a choice that an artist made. I'm a songwriter and I write songs [unfortunately I'm not as famous as Noel Gallagher is =D]. You can dig them or not, but you can't blame me if after 20 years I try to take another direction. I mean, if you prefer his old stuff it's easy, just go to Spotify or get a CD and listen to it. I'll never understand why someone should waste his time to criticize a band or a singer that he doesn't like anymore, and TH-cam is full of these kind of people, always ready to throw shit instead of moving over and find something that they really like at that moment. Tastes change with the age and there's a world of music out there, (great music, shitty music - it's just a matter of tastes) and that just always make laugh. [Hope my harangue is clear, I'm loosing my confidence with the english language day after day!]

Navi Ovarb There'll never ever be a band like Oasis anymore. But if you're a great fan as I am you should know that things were becoming out of control because of this two's personalities. Noel has always been the responsible one, he took oasis to the top of the world with his words, determination and because he always put music in the first place. Liam, specially in the early years, acted immediately with a cool bad boy attitude claiming that rock stars behave that way, and Oasis should have do so to get famous. Liam was simply immature and not responsible at all (he was always late at rehearsals, he used to get drunk a lot, get into fights...) and what makes me angry is that it was such a waste!! 'Cause he's an incredible singer and a GREAT songwriter, but his pride has no limits, he never learned to make sacrifices for a bigger cause. I know is not easy to deal with fame at that young age, but years after things stared to get too hot and Noel couldn't stand it anymore, he understood that his brother's attitude would never changed and so he decided to leave.
You think that didn't break his heart? He had no other choice. I know they miss each other, but an oasis reunion is never going to happen just
because they're too different, they grew up in opposite direction, that is totally human. Now they're both experimenting new music, especially Noel, and Liam's album is just amazing. It's an evolution, things can't stay the same forever. No one is to blame for their split, they weren't simply made to be together forever.
They'll be both terrific in their new path, and I will still love them in the same fucking way.
The Gallaghers songs allowed Oasis to live forever in the hearts of the people. Keep them safe, they deserve it.

I was never a huge fan of Oasis when I was younger, now that I'm older I'm beginning to appreciate their music. This tune though, has made me look at Noel in a whole new light. Absolutely brilliant tune! The one thing no one can deny is that Noel is a musical genius

As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy most of Noel's solo material (I like 6 songs total now) I'm really enjoying this. The is the most fun song he's released since he left Oasis.

This album really excites me because this man isn't done by a long shot this song in particular is just a taste of what is to come

Damon Albarn he says he loves it. The thing I love about Noel is he's always backing himself up. He says he and his wife actually love the album a lot (for real) and it's his favorite thing that he's done and specifically to this song, he said his kids and their friends adore it. So on some level, it must be serving him. I'm taking him at his word. And yes, I agree, there's a lot of things he's done that absolutely blew me away and nothing from this album so far, is that. However, I think it's a really healthy thing for people, not just musicians, but everyone, to branch out and do something different than what they've done just for experiment's sake, experience sake, and a change of scene. Whether or not it goes down as a pile of whatever, or not, I'd say at this point in his career, it's better for him to be working with a new producer and trying something new for him. I think it's important to keep growing and working your brain in new ways and making new connections. It could result in an amazing album next time out, and at least, for now, he and his family seem happy with it. I have enough of REALLY GOOD Noel Gallagher things and Oasis, not to mention a bunch load of other bands, where I'm never hanging on every song, or album, or word of just one single musician to deliver me something fantastic. So it allows me to be rather objective.

This is probably one of my favourite songs of the year. He thinks outside the box with creativity, and dares to move away from the default Oasis style. On the other hand Liam, despite still producing good music, doesn't stray too far from the Oasis comfort zone. Keep on producing class Noel.

This song just gets better every time you hear it.
Every time Noel has released a first single, the comments were always the same. Death Of You and Me dropped and everyone was saying Beady Eye's Bring The Light was the top tune, when in fact both songs were absolute class and the albums were both fantastic. Heat of the Moment dropped, people gave Noel shit once again for writing an down the centre anthemic rock and roll tune, but then Chasing Yesterday became one of his best pieces of work yet, an absolute classic.
Here we are again 2 years later with Holy Mountain, a stomping upbeat rock and roll psychedelic song that suits Noel's voice and sounds absolute MEGA. This song is going to be EPIC live. Liam's album is also brilliant and both Gallagher's will get the success they deserve for their albums.
Who Built The Moon is going to be a huge album. Anyone doubting Noel's songwriting or creativity seriously is deluded, the man has pumped out more hit songs over the past 30 years than anyone else out there - this being another one.

ReviewThe1 I can see where you are coming from but this song is not a "classic" as you seem to think it is. This man wrote 'Live Forever', if you compare that to this, you have to think he's doing something seriously wrong. It's up to him but I can guarantee 'Who Built the Moon' will be a disaster compared to 'As You Were'. Fans want Oasis-style rock numbers not this Ricky Martin stuff.
Noel is doing nothing wrong at all, he is writing the music that he wants to write and release. He has nothing to prove to anyone, and he doesn't have to impress anyone either - he is enjoying making music. Fans want Oasis back, Oasis-esque sounding tracks but why should Noel cater for that? He has a new kind of audience with his solo stuff and his number 1 solo albums and sold-out world tours prove his new music is fantastic.
Who Built The Moon will be a success, as everything Noel has done has been majorly successful on every scale. Everything Liam has done as well as been majorly successful as they are both talented and brilliant musicians.
Both have different styles and both albums are going to be great (Liam's already is). There is too much focus on this "comparison" bullshit between both of them - both are just releasing the music they want to write and create.
When and if I can, I'll be seeing both Liam and Noel live at some point during their sold out world tours, and I cannot wait.
