I have faced 498a trial myself knows that this law has don't have any remedy for men. While facing this trial i have spent sleepless knights,faced social humiliation for my whole extended familyand lost many job opportunities due to ongoing case. Even after getting acquitted ( feels lucky in away and seen not ones during trials in court) from this i had no provision to act against the false complaints. Me and I'm still in jusicial matters in this matrimonial dispute. And have every chance to dragged in this matter any time in future if the other party tries to challenge the judgment in higher courts. On the other side i have also seen a girl in my close circle burnt because of dowry. I have cremated her half burnt and postmartem body with my hand. Her complain against her husband (while she was alive) was not taken seriously and she had to compromise as in the eyes of police this 498 a law is so misused. She could have been living in the world if sanctity of the law was kept by thosy fraud women who misuses it. For every one geniune case 10 false cases are filed. So in my view checks and balances are needed in this law. And i truly believes in justice is due in case of atul shubhas and been known him and his family of Atul from childhood i really hopes he get justice in near future.
