Continuing our tour of Europe and Prague Christmas markets, we visited Prague Christmas markets on opening night and WOW, was it so much busier than we expected! We still had a fab time trying the Czech mulled wine and food delicacies on offer. We hope it helps plan your own trip if you are looking to visit Prague Christmas markets in 2023!

There are vlogs that say most things are closed on December 25th. 😢 I am planning to spend my Christmas there and I am arriving on the 23rd and leaving on the 26th. I’m not sure if that’s time time to really enjoy the Christmas spirit there. Thank you for your videos!
Hello! We didn’t go in actual Christmas Day, we were there in early December! You’ll be able to find the dates on google though for when the markets are open and should say if they’re closed on Christmas Day :) have an amazing time!

@@hakakdavut7044 Christmastime was great in Prague. On December 24, there were a lot of establishments open especially groceries and restaurants, Christmas markets, and concerts too. I did grocery shopping on the 24th so I’ll have supplies on the 25th, where most establishments were closed. I did a walking tour on the 25th and there were a lot of people out but just a few establishments open, mostly those near the tourist areas. The big Christmas markets on Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, and a small one in Kampa were open in the afternoon, I just don’t know up to what time they were open. Transportation also ran from the morning till the evening on those dates.

@@hakakdavut7044 there were a lot of people out on the 26th. More establishments were open but a lot were still closed. I went to the Old Town Square Christmas market, it was still buzzing on the 26th! Public transportation was also available. Hey good luck on your planning!

Budapest is much larger than Prague. It is just more spread out and not as popular

What day of the week did you visit Prague? Is this a Tuesday evening or a Saturday evening? So crowded you can barely move 😔
This was a weekday I think, however it was the opening day of the Xmas markets, and during the European school holidays, so it was always going to be busy. Too busy for our liking though!
