Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

It seemed that Mehmet was his favourite son. When Mehmet died Suleiman ordered 40 days of mourning and had the Sehzade Mausoleum built in Estambul by where he and Hürrem would be buried. Mihrimah was the only one in the same mausoleum with Suleiman.
The truth is Prince Mehmet is actually Sultan Suleiman's Favorite son and heir to the throne, even the Pasha's and Scholars their favorite Prince and heir to the throne is Prince Mehmet and not Prince Mustafa! Prince Mustafa isn't actually that close to Prince Mehmet like they show in the Series, Because in reality Prince Mustafa sis his Brother Prince Mehmet as a rival to the throne and not as a companion or a brother.
In reality Mustafa wasn't as good as he's in the show. He was actually rebellious and used to disobey his father on many occasions.He was a threat to the throne. So, he died and threat was removed and it is still a mystery weather he was actually innocent or guilty

Süleyman was so grief-stricken that he spent a lot of time mourning by his body and ordered official mourning for 30 days. There were 2 minarets built in his mosque and these structures were normally reserved only for sovereigns. In his long life Süleyman mourned for Hürrem, Mehmet and Cihangir in that order I read from some historical writings.

Yeah well Suleiman in history wanted Mehmet to inherit the throne because he didn't rlly had flaws which would cause him to be Suleiman's favourite son. He also wasn't jealous of any of his brothers and tought that the throne should go to whom his father chose ofc . But fate chose Selim
Sultan Suleiman is a very good ruler and king but he was worst at parenting. He always discriminates between his sons. First with Mustafa and Mehmet than with selim and beyazid.
If you look at this compared to Mustafa you'll see that with each failure Mehmet tried to do better but made sure to avoid harming his father. Mustafa grew angry with each failure and then smirked when he came close to drawing blood. I think that's why Suleiman always felt threatened by Mustafa and not Mehmet. His other crown princes were the same as Mustafa, went for blood when they failed. Mehmet even says that he can't foresee ever beating his father and that he hopes to never be without him. I love the dream though and Mehmet seems so surprised to hear his father essentially tell him that he's the chosen heir.
Even in real life Suleiman broke tradition by announcing Mehmed, second oldest son, as his heir. After his death, Suleiman is so broken-hearted he mourned him for 40 days, built him The Prince Mosque (where his tomb was located) & made a poem that said 'my Prince Mehmed, the most distinguished of the princes'

Mehmet was the kindest out of all his sons I think he saw that remember the sultan was a great judge of character in fact he was known as the law giver. He did not discriminate, most of the people closest to him were from extreme poor backgrounds but he saw something in them and accepted them for their hard work and character something that is still unheard of in western monarchies
I wish Mustafa and Mehmet ruled together side by side like brothers. It would have been an unbreakable bond

But Ottomans did not have a law, that the first-born gets the throne, like it was in medieval Europe. No wonder, he preferred son from his favourite women, to the son from the forgotten ex. In addition he was scared that Mustafa will take a throne and will kill his other children, seems like he was sure that Mehmet will not do that. That's why he adored him: they filmed it beautifully, we can see how fear and suspicion destroy his fatherly love to Mustafa, but his love to Mehmet remains unstained.
And Rustem learned from that moment on that Mehmet was the favorite son!

Suleiman idolised Mehmet
In life and in death. I felt angry after watching this scene. He prayed for his son to live a long life. Mahidevran destroyed that purely out of hatred towards Hurrem. Jealousy is such a dangerous feeling to have. It can turn even the most innocent people into evil little savages.

It's time like this that I liked Rustem. He was always great with the young princes. I feel like he would've been a great father if he had a son. Not that he wasn't to his daughter. He may be paranoid and a snake but he was brilliant and a perfect son in law to Hurrem.
He had a son. In the show he and Mihrimah had a daughter, Ayşe-Hümaşah and a son, Osman.
