Pro tip. I use vallejo primers on plastics you use less paint and they contain vinyl to them so it adheres better. For metallics like silver & chrome use black as base then silver pops more & you use less paint. Gold you can mix gesso with yellow for bright gold primer. Light brown for 24k gold Black for aged gold. For rose gold Primer use pink with gesso then add pink to gold for a bright rose gold. Red&brown base with red(warm) with gold for deeper rose gold Black with brown base. Mix copper & gold paint for dark rose gold
@@GingerLolaMiniatures not for all Vallejo has basic white & black you can get grey, bone and leather brown primers in smaller bottles. A little goes a long way. For wood i like liquidex you can thin it out with airbrush media and pigments are stronger than craft paint
@@GingerLolaMiniatures most primers for plastic use white for bright colors, grey for med colors, black for black & navy and dk brown. Then you just paint.
Ginger- I forgot to tell you- I love how you pay meticulous attention to detail as you build your doll furniture. You are a Barbie Craftsperson. Be blessed.
Wow, smiling all day because of your comment :) thank you soooooo much :) you're not going to believe the awesome deal i found on facebook marketplace, over $300 worth of Barbie stuff for $20, i'm still freaking out :) was a far drive but worth it :) will be sharing in a video next week... a lot more makeovers coming soon :)
Thank you so much 😀for watching and commenting :) telling everyone i reply to today about my amazing find on facebook marketplace, over $300 worth of Barbie stuff for $20 :) i'll share that in a video next week :)
I love this, only thing I would change is the side of the dishwasher. Dishwashers are inset into the cabinets so you wouldn't see the side of it, only the cabinet.
yah, that's bothering me too :) i'm giving the living room and kitchen a few updates, first the flooring, plus i want to get the fireplace back into the diorama, give it a makeover first.... and a few more changes... then the bathroom :) thanks so much for watching and commenting :) oh, i'm thinking of maybe a new backsplash?? what do you think?
Thank you so much :) yes a tea towel would have been perfect.... I"m making some updates soon on the living room and kitchen diorama, changing the flooring to match the bedroom and I really want the fireplace back in the diorama with a new makeover. Hope you'll subscribe to my channel so you don't miss any of the new makeovers :)
Thank you so much, I love how it turned out, found another kitchen on Facebook Marketplace and more, i can't believe the deal i just found, i'll share it in a video next week, over $300 worth of barbie stuff for only $20!
Thank you so much :) cool, thanks, that makes me happy :) i'll try to include more :) i found an awesome deal on facebook marketplace, over $300 worth of barbie stuff for $20... can't wait to share it.
I really like this. The only thing I would have added was opening the under sink doors and hinge them. I figure it wouldn’t be too hard since you added the wood paneling. Great job!!!
lol, thank you so much :) i wanted the whole kitchen makeover in one video, with all the mess ups removed :) i'm thinking live streams are for new content never seen before on the channel, and trying to have one ready for Sundays, starting next week... can't wait to share my amazing facebook marketplace finds... plus new video ideas because of the awesome stuff... over $300 worth, i did the math, for only $20!
How do you make such accurate cuts just by looking? If I was making those lower cabinets, they would not have looked like yours. Those upper cabinets, and the details you added, wow. Thingamajig, I think that's a technical term. I just don't have the words for how impressed I am by your attention to details, Mattel needs to hire you to decorate the next barbie dream house. It would give them record sales, you get the whole cake!
Thank you sooooo much :) lol, i measure and measure but most times just end up eyeballing it, believe me, when it turns out, i'm happily surprised :) wow, thank you sooooo much :) comments like yours inspire and motivate me sooooo much :) i found an amazing deal on marketplace, over $300 worth of barbie stuff for only $20, and i just picked up another kitchen today for $15 ... will share my finds on Sunday :) lots of new kitchens to makeover :) thank you again for watching and taking the time to leave me an awesome comment, made my day :)
Well, that was a stunning makeover! But there's so much to re-do that the plastic is just an armature. There seems to be so much back and forth -- we improved the cabinet, so we have to extend the counter -- that it just seems easier to my brain patterns to build boxes from scratch, the right height and all. About all you kept were the stove burners, the hinged fronts of the oven and dishwasher, and the sink set-up. What was the counter height originally? 1:8? 1:9?
it was an extreme makeover :) i like reusing these old kitchens, i think it's more challenging to make something prettier than starting from scratch? plus it removes most of the measuring when creating something from scratch, i really hate measuring :) but i do want to to create a diorama, made from scratch :) when i run out of kitchens to makeover, thank you so much for watching and commenting :)
Ginger, good morning. First I enjoyed your video. I do have a question- What did you spray paint with first before you actually put the spray paint on the sink area? When I spray paint my Barbie doll furniture I always use Rustoleum primer + paint combined. I find it a lot easier. It dries well. And turns out exactly how I always want it to. And I have a second question- Is spackling a better glue than E6000? I have never used spackling and I always use E6000. I also like to use a stronger glue to make my Barbie items "stay forever" and "stick". Thanks again for this video. Lastly, I love how you always paint without gloves. If I were to paint without gloves I would have the biggest mess- not only on my hands but my work area. (ja,ja) Be blessed.
She is using a plastic white spray paint, so the paint will stick to the plastic well. Kind of like a rustloium for plastic. Sorry if I over stepped, I just happen to know that one =)
Hi Sharon :) thank you so much ... eveilwolf is right, spray i used was a primer as well. Spackling isn't glue, not sure if you can use it as glue, i like to use it with cracks, so i can sand it smooth. I mostly use hot glue, works for me and if it's something that falls off, i just glue it back again :) lol... i make a mess too, when it's a big piece to paint, i usually don't wear them, but if it's tiny, i'll wear the gloves, really hate getting paint on my hands :) Thank you :) be blessed :)
Excellent job! You did an amazing job. Can you share where you purchased the tile sheet? Love the size/scale and I need the same for my kitchen. Thank you.
lol :) i''m trying to figure out what i'll need over the winter for dollhouse makeovers and dioramas, so i can spray paint everything in the fall... right now it's too hot, and starting in november, it'll be too cold :)
