You somehow stay positive and find humor in even the roughest moments. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again- favorite TH-camrs!!! Sorry for the scary experience and please continue to stay safe out there in the crazy outback❤️
Thanks Glen, sadly our cigarette lighter doesn't work and panels don't look fixable, but we will just have to pay for campsites every few days in the mean time to keep ourselves charged up until we can get new ones
Have you read Tracks?? Starting from Alice Springs a woman walks across the outback with camels to get to the Indian Ocean. Its also a film if you're not big reader! Hugely inspiring read. My favourite book ever! Hope you manage to stay cool 😊
Those roads you were travelling on are much better with 4WD 😁 You are so brave as those road trains can cause you to run off road/sway (wind) as they travel FAST keep hands firmly on steering wheel!! Omg your panels blew off! 🥺 I have driven from Melbourne to Perth & we had Gerry Cans of petrol in 80s because there were a lack of petrol stations! Slip Slop Slap SPF 50+ 😵💫 The intense heat can take your breath away! Loved the Vlog guys flies & all 💜💙🇦🇺🍻🐨
Fake The flies were bad enough when we were there. Those road trains are crazy. Blimey guys you are really going through it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the outback trip. As you know we decided not to do it after watching you guys i think we did the right thing.
Yeah, we're prob all a little bit worried about these two right now. I'm sure it's because they are so light hearted and jokey all the time... But I tell myself they have good brains in their heads and good feet in their shoes... like Dr. Seuss said.. right? 😅❤
I was concerned when you said you wanted to go to the Outback during summer. It's insanely hot and dangerous. Be careful. I am enjoying your videos though. Make sure you have the Blue Mountains on your list. It's divine and much cooler, when we're not on fire.
Loved your video but them flies were bad like the midges back home. Yes Philly is handsome with the hat and ye are a lovely couple. Frightening about the solar panels so please be careful
Moon landing - as real as the flies! Phillys hat - handsome phillybilly. Keely - Dora the Explorer. Road trains, heat, Oz & flies - intense! Go, you troopers! I'm learning French & my daughter is learning Gaelic atm!
Does it say more about you or me that I was half way through your vlog before I realised that I was watching at 1.25x speed? Hope you managed to get you solar back quickly in that heatwave! 😲🥵 Also, you might want to talk Philly out of that forehead tail idea; he'd look a bit of a d***head! 😉😂 He just needs to step up his Aussieness a notch and string a few corks off his hat. 🤘
🤣🤣 we do get told we talk fast when excited haha. Still haven't got solar, but soon 🤞🤞 not many places to pick them up out of season in the outback haha
I was very young about 6 I think but I remember my dad made sure we were up whenever anything about it was on. The day they landed on the moon was early morning and I have a very clear memory of watching it so so cool 😘
Good-day you two👋 Firstly I must say, Keely you looked so cute in your colour coded outfit, and Philly I love the hat man. 😂 Those flies, my god, they would drive me mad 🪰🪰🪰🪰 😠 Oh guys, those road trains, they are lethal 🫣 Infact I would get out of there, head for the coast 🏊♂️🏄♀️ PS moon landing? 👎 Take care guys, don't eat to many flies.👍🐸
Thankyou ❤️ the flies are so grim, and the temps only get higher, I think there is wisdom in heading for the coast, but we are gluttons for punishment 🤣
😂 We did warn you of the heat and flys in the outback. Glad to see you got hats and sunscreen and stocked the van with water and supplies and take fuel seriously. Electronics won't work in the Australian heat so paper maps and talking to locals is the key. Keep going 💪 as it'll be an experience like no other. I've seen two road trains sandwich a car, so keep clear of them. The outback forces you to have a plan B, C & D.
Hello you awesome travelers. First Philly is mos def handsome and Keely is a joy to behold always. Moon landing absolutely real. And…I live in Phoenix, AZ with the highest number of days over 119 degrees this year…most ever recorded. That’s about 48 degrees Celsius. You learn quickly to not be outside except very early morning. But ugh, flies seem the worst ever. So question: Which are worse; Australian flies or Scottish midges?
Excellent question, we debate this haha! I think mosquitos are the worst of all. Midges are probably worse than flies, but they are more limited in location, whereas flies are everywhere! I would say ultimately don't come to Scotland or the outback in summer, both should be done in spring when the critters arent so abundant haha
Huge respect to you two for travelling north in those temperatures. I've just returned from spending New Year at Uluru in Sails of the Desert Resort: we had to stay indoors from 11.00 am till 5.00 pm to remain sane. Looking forward to seeing you in Perth!
The reason the corrugated road is bumpier when it looks smooth is because the ruts are full of what's called "bulldust" where they the dust settles and fills them up. Aww thanks so much Cat ❤️ panels were bolted to roof rack, but it broke the plastic around the fixing and ripped right off. When we get to somewhere we can buy replacements I think Philly might go rigid next town
Hi Keeley and Philly. ! Have you seen the film "Woolf Creek" ? Keeley you should get yourself a Crocodile Dundee hat with the Corks hanging out of it, which I presume swat the flies. ha Ha Happy New Year. Hugs 🍀🍀😺😺🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚🍀🍀
Loved this video guys… Heat looks insane though and those pesky flies….love the hat Philly! Hoping to see that you get the solar panels fixed in next weeks video.
Stay safe guys! That did not look fun with the heat, flies and fast moving lorries! I hope it gets better for you! ❤️ P.S. I think the moon landing was fake.
Am not envious of you trip right now… the heat would be too much… the adventure though is something you will never forget…. Looking forward to the next instalment ⭐️

Aussie outback is intense scary and beautiful in so many ways. And those Aussie flys, yup you need a cork hat and mossie net. Philly, the cows butt hole comment, best ever 😂. Stay safe guys and hope you get the solar panel fixed as soon as.
You kids are so great. How resilient are you in that moment, wind surfing past an outback truck, losing the connection to your power source. Seriously your lives in jeopardy with the risk of no cold water. Go ahead and cry, I would. Moon landing real, Aussies leading the space race - never. How many flies will you be eating before your road trip is over? Philly handsome, hat or no hat, Keely fashion conscious in colour coordinating socks and shorts, so freaking cute. The corks swinging from the hat brims do work and keep flies away from the face. Love ya, Stay safe, keep driving.
We used to drive 600km to the town we lived in WA and the road trains were always so scary. Most are safe and courteous and others not so much… we hope you guys are having better travels we can’t wait for the rest of this outback series. Happy new year 🎉
Hi ya Philly and Keely. I personally love the desert country you never get the red dust out, definitely 💯 hillbilly.🥰Always wear sunscreen, the Kangaroos 🦘 are just “Roos” ,the road trains 🚂 would be different, I used drive a truck and trailer all over Australia well mostly, it’s iconic the landscape. I think the moon landing was real .Get used to the flies. Take care and stay safe. 🪰🎉🚐❤
The net I put up around myself this week while editting makes the flies much more endurable haha, Philly has like twenty on him on the van and I'm in my own wee cocoon
Real🌕 Oh you guys! Even though I knew it had already happened, watching you guys lose your solar put my heart in my mouth! Not the way you want to start your way into the outback. I hope it’s starting to feel like a crazy story now and not too traumatic ❤️
Awe honey, you can see them coming from a long way away, just pull as far over on the road as you can and let them pass, dont be scared xcx those flies omg, gth outta there lol, and real is my answer about the moon although there was a point i thought it was faked xcx
I remember an American golfers back covered with bloody flies. He was adamant it was our national bird..... To say they are intense in hotter parts of Oz , is an understatment.
You guys picked the wrong time of year to go through the outback. It is much better to go in winter, the middle of the year. Also, summer is the wet season and can get quite flooded in places. Winter is dry. It always amazes me when non Australians visit the outback and they don’t bring any bug repellent. I prefer tropical strength Rid but Aeroguard works well. If you had some bug repellent the flies would have left you alone. 😊😊 I hope you still enjoyed your trip just the same. Moon landing was real. I watched it live on TV in 1969 when it actually happened.
That's so cool that you watched it live ❤️❤️ yeah we had originally planned to go in spring, but time lines took longer than hoped and next thing we knew it was summer, winter would definitely be much more manageable, but so glad we did it and it was special to have the place all to ourselves ❤️❤️
Fake. 😂 🎑 ☽ I met Buzz Aldrin in the 90s and my husband asked in that question. He was very evasive. 😮 I had forgotten about the fly situation from when I lived tgere. Horrible things. Stay safe guys. 🔥
I remember my step-fathers work collegues visiting our very small place to have beer n watch the moon landings on our (rare) T.V. black n white....being an active 6/7 year old I was told t "sit still n pay attention coz this was history" n when I asked " what history" n was told "this isthe very first person on the moon" n at that moment he jumps down from the pod I said 'thats not true....he cant be the first man" n when one of the guys said "of course it is! Why do you say that?" My child logic response was " He's not the first man actually on the moon....what about the man whos holding the camera?" There followed an 'unnaturally quiet moment.'...with no adults responding but all looking from me to each other......till my step-father...got cross n I was thrown out the building,so they could keep watching in peace! N drink more Beer! Even the idea of remote cameras was unfamiliar t most people back in the day! But as no adult present could explain any of the science or technology involved or the processes involved t get there...I considered that they were 'stupid' n concluded that it was just another excuse to get together n drink lots of beer n shout a lot....just like when football matches were on! Lol! I was happy outside....n found lots of interesting things...like an old radio...a (petrol) lawnmower n other bits of machinery n spent hours taking them t pieces t find out how they fit together! N did not fathom why I got into so much trouble when caught in the act....(even more shouting!) As he was a mechanic n engineer it wasnt a big deal...but my mother was furious coz I'd got covered in oil n grease with soil ground into it from being on the ground! I "missed " that bit of History....but 20Yrs later....remembered enough t fix an old neighbours suffork Punch lawnmower lol! When i got "to big school" I asked a physics teacher how it was done! Simple - when you know how...😂
Hi, Guys. Really sucks with the solar panels, hope you've got the bits on board with you to get it sorted. 1/ Moon Landings - real. 2/ Next time you find a store, get yourselves a couple of Aussie Cork Hats, the ones with the pieces of string around the rim with pieces of cork hanging off to keep the flies away from your face. Philly wearing one of those would really make you feel like one of the locals! What makes this annoying is that you guys probably drove near my house here in Kerry at some point & we've got two of those we bought while in Oz & could have given them to you, I don't we're ever gonna find much need for them round here!
Haha, that would have been quality if we had brought hats from you in Kerry all the way back to Oz haha. Still not sorted solar panels, but we will when we can
When I lived on Cyprus it was 45° constantly for 2 months every year and I didn't have AC, It was brain numbing. Fake moon landing. Hope you got the panels sorted. Stay safe guys ❤x
Loving catching up you too, sorry been missing in action. Enjoying this video so far. Off to watch the rest.Jesus lads, fairplay to ye, those trains are scarey. My tuppence worth, reall!
I live in Arizona and we had 55 days of temps at 110 or higher some were at 122. I have a pool and A/C in the house but it was brutal that is 44-50C. I like the hat on Philly and I like yours too Keely. As far as your question about the moon I think it was real. Stay safe our there!!
Moon landing real, what do the Irish believe? 😂. Don't worry about wildlife in the outback, stay away from them and they will leave you alone. When passing road trains move over slightly to the left of the road.
Yeah we now make space when they come haha. I think most Irish people don't question alot of things lmao, but we love a good discussion of alternate opinions, society would be boring if we all believed the same things. Agreeing to disagree is a skill people have lost in recent years, I love hearing all sides and opinions ❤️💪
I was born in Woomera way back in the 1970s. My dad worked on those rockets. Great to see someone getting excited over them 🎉 As the son of a rocket scientist, moon landings definitely real 😂
Sadly, that type of heat in the outback, during the summer months, is no where near unprecedent. Plan your travels to either stay at a caravan park or stay near a body of water that is crocodile free, so that you can both cool off. Also, buy a portable car tyre inflator (compressor) so that tyres can be deflated on the corrugations and sandy sections and pumped up as required. Double or triple your water carrying ability, too.
Thankyou ❤️ we've heard of a few people now the forces blow out their windows. I reckon it's just a combination of the elements and the speed combining against us, now we just slow down loads and pull over where possible to limit the wind impact
Pro tip for sleeping in the heat . Tske your bed sheet to the shower in the morning , get it wet , ring it out and fold it , preferably place it in the fridge all day , then just before you go to sleep put it over you , by morning it will be dry and you will be cool all night . You dont need a fridge . Just the wet in the sheet is enough , the evaporation of the water from the sheet will create a refridgeration effect . Evaporation = cooling .
@@phillyandkeely there is a sweet spot of wet verses uncomfort . A damp sheet rather than a wet sheet . You'll need to experiment with it . Obviously a soaking towel is going to not evaporate as much as a thin bed sheet . I learned this trick in 52 degrees Celsius in Arizona ., taking the sheet out of the refrigerator and putting it on the bed before sleep was heaven . I used a fan , but I don't think you need a fan .. you may need some ventilation . Let me know if it works in the van . ❤️❤️ From Dublin
Don't worry Veronica, we have indeed decided after we do the things we want in the outback that back to the coast might be a good idea instead of hanging around ahah

Fake
❤️
Real🤣
❤️
We used to drive 600km to the town we lived in WA and the road trains were always so scary. Most are safe and courteous and others not so much… we hope you guys are having better travels we can’t wait for the rest of this outback series. Happy new year 🎉
Thanks so much guys, yeah most were lovely, but there's a few scary ones eh! Happy new year to you too!
Happy new year to you both 💏xx
Thanks Ruth, and to you too ❤️
Hi ya Philly and Keely.
Real🌕
Oh you guys! Even though I knew it had already happened, watching you guys lose your solar put my heart in my mouth! Not the way you want to start your way into the outback. I hope it’s starting to feel like a crazy story now and not too traumatic ❤️
Yeah even though we still haven't replaced them, it's been put in the story to laugh about column haha
Note on correlations let some air out of your tyres lower pressure helps heaps but you must put it back up on the bitumen
Thanks for the tip Alan ❤️
Awe honey, you can see them coming from a long way away, just pull as far over on the road as you can and let them pass, dont be scared xcx those flies omg, gth outta there lol, and real is my answer about the moon although there was a point i thought it was faked xcx
Thanks Katrina, yeah we give them lots of space now!
I remember an American golfers back covered with bloody flies. He was adamant it was our national bird..... To say they are intense in hotter parts of Oz , is an understatment.
So many flies!! But still beautiful ❤️
Yeah the flies are grim! Cool that you met Buzz Aldrin!
Simple - when you know how...😂
🤣🤣 loved this whole story!! Felt like I was right there reading this ❤️ 💪 love that you just took things apart for fun!
That sounds brutal, hopefully you were able to swim to cool yourself down!
Loving catching up you too, sorry been missing in action. Enjoying this video so far. Off to watch the rest.Jesus lads, fairplay to ye, those trains are scarey. My tuppence worth, reall!
Happy to have you catching up ❤️❤️
I live in Arizona and we had 55 days of temps at 110 or higher some were at 122. I have a pool and A/C in the house but it was brutal that is 44-50C. I like the hat on Philly and I like yours too Keely. As far as your question about the moon I think it was real. Stay safe our there!!
Wow Kristin, Arizona sounds brutal! But a pool sounds awesome 🥰
Well done for going in to the outback plus the road trains are a force to be seen but you're here to tell the tail keep safe 😄
Thanks Andrew ❤️❤️
Moon landing real, what do the Irish believe? 😂. Don't worry about wildlife in the outback, stay away from them and they will leave you alone. When passing road trains move over slightly to the left of the road.
Yeah we now make space when they come haha. I think most Irish people don't question alot of things lmao, but we love a good discussion of alternate opinions, society would be boring if we all believed the same things. Agreeing to disagree is a skill people have lost in recent years, I love hearing all sides and opinions ❤️💪
Wow. Those flies and road trains are nothing to mess with.
Yeah they are nuts!
I was born in Woomera way back in the 1970s. My dad worked on those rockets. Great to see someone getting excited over them 🎉 As the son of a rocket scientist, moon landings definitely real 😂
Love that your dad is a rocket scientist that is epic!
Thanks so much for the advice Andrew ❤️❤️🙏🙏 we will defo be taking it on board 🥵
Best line in the video: “Is this what it feels to be a cow’s butthole” 😂😂😂 I’m dyingggg hahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣 glad you enjoyed that haha
Omg! What a scary experience! So glad you guys are ok.
I think the moon landing was real...
Thankyou, we are safe and that's the main thing ❤️
I can’t believe that truck ripped off your solar … what a nightmare- is there any way of avoiding it I wonder? Hope you’re both ok
That sounds genius!
Real or Feck? I'm in the Real column, but feck this! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Isay the moon landing was real. stay safe ❤❤
Thanks Josephine ❤️
real x
Real-but get out of the outback asap not worth it! There are plenty of other things to do and see without putting yourselves in danger.😮❤
Don't worry Veronica, we have indeed decided after we do the things we want in the outback that back to the coast might be a good idea instead of hanging around ahah
