There is an excellent part 2, just look for it. Don't settle for the bad one broken into chapters.

If this is the narration quality of Audible, I'm glad I don't pay for it

Love Lee Child and the Reacher series, but the narrator’s decision to add “he said” and “ I said” after delivering every line was unnecessary, broke the rhythm of the story and actually became a distraction..

He's not adding it; it's a Lee Child "trademark", along with "Reacher said nothing".
It's in the books. Just hits the ear more than eye... Cheers

OMG….you are so right! I stand corrected and apologies to the narrator. I’ve read a good number of Child’s books and have never noticed. You’re right in that the mind overlooks what might be perceived as “filler.” Thank you.

@@NancySingletonCase Oddly enough, ever since you mentioned it, I can't hear anything else(!!) - the narrator dos seem to hit the "said" a tad hard... Cheers

yeah, for the purposes of audioook should be avoided. Especially since there is voice acting for each character

@@parapoliticos52 I take your point - but doesn't the audiobook narrator HAVE to read the book as-written?
[I've heard some where the cut the "chapter 12" reading bits - and I miss those, when I'm getting ready to take a break!] Cheers

I love these books but the twang is awful. Ruins the flow. Ruins the story for me. I appreciate the effort.

Just curious are you talking about the reader? In my opinion he is one of the best readers for the Reacher books

    • @Glitteringraindrop

@ yes but no. It’s the reader’s representation of some of the characters. The twang used is annoying to me. It’s so false to my ears it’s offensive. In my opinion Child’s characters are more sophisticated. When the reader represents Jack he is pleasurable
to listen to. I think that it’s so wonderful that we are able to personalize literature. It’s like poetry or music. One rendition may have a personal connection where as another leaves us cold. Cheer🍻!
