I remember my mom taking us to Dayton when I was a child. She liked to shop at Rikes Department store. We had so much fun.

I grew up in Dayton in the 60s and seventies and left in 1980 , I went back after 45 years and I couldn't believe what has happened to my home town ,I seen a short lil vid you showing the witch's tower ,as we knew it back then as Frankensteins castle , my girlfriend and I would go there late at nite ,sometimes, that's when it was open and could hardly get to it for all the over growth of trees and bush's , and a muddy Rocky trail ,thank you for posting ,it did my old heart good ,I'll be visiting again soon to visit , my high school sweethearts grave ,buried not far from carolton park .
❤️Love your post and thank you ❤️kiser high : GO PANTHERS ❤️
    In loving memory for

Nice video, thanks for showing me what my city looked like 75 years ago. I have seen alot change in the 40 plus years that I can remember being alive. But alot has changed in 75 years, but I can also still pick things out as well.

I'm also a Kettering resident and I agree, this is very interesting. At about 5:40, the castle like structure would later be known as witches castle or Frankensteins castle. It has been boarded up for many years and is the subject of a local urban legend.

There were contrails in the sky back then (1940s). Any high-altitude flying jet or reciprocating engine aircraft can produce them given ice crystals in the air that are converted to steam by those engines.
