    Try Visit Zamboanga City the Asia's Latin City. Spanish influence is not just in Buildings but also in speach. They speak Spanish Creol there 🇪🇸

    Vigan is one of my favorite places in the North. You have the old streets and also the pottery making.
    The sand dunes near Laoag (pronounced like Lawag) is cool too. It's like a mini desert. I only ever saw it once.
    While you're in the north, you may as well try to see the wind farms.

    The saddest part is that vigan is just a small town before. imagine vigan city the size of manila. and it's center is intramuros city. manila was the paris of asia. unfortunately WW2 happen philippines is the 2nd most devastated and destroyed city during worldwar2 after warsaw.

    • @gecko1131
      @gecko1131 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Yes, Central or Old Manila was called the Paris of Asia before, it was so progressive and beautiful unfortunately the glory was never restore after the WWII. The City Capital/Central Manila was being left behind by its surrounding cities.

    • @noeljokait
      @noeljokait 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes that is so true, when the Japanese were retreating from the Americans, the Commander wanted to leave Manila as an open city like Paris did with the Nazis but other Japanese officers disobeyed the orders. The devastation caused by the numerous battles practically destroyed all the beauty that Manila could have offered the world after war. I heard so many stories about Japanese and later Korean conscripts atrocities during the retreat and the battles from my parents and relatives.

    • @balxbalcos7791
      @balxbalcos7791 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@noeljokait you know it was the americans that leveled manila during ww2. It was the second most bombed city after warsaw but bombed by its allies

      @@balxbalcos7791 Both Americans and Japanese were at fault for the destruction. The Japanese stood their ground, and the Americans cannot wage a protracted battle for the city. This was urban warfare, and urban warfare works like a siege. If the enemy is hiding and you want to preserve the structures, it's either hold a standoff which will take several months if you are able to cut off supply lines, or to invade you will have to sacrifice more lives due to the complication. The only way to defeat the enemy as soon as possible with the least casualties is to destroy the structures, like what we have seen in Marawi.
      This is why all things considered, urban warfare is the most difficult military operation, and cities are the worst theater.

      Not really Paris. Paris isn't just beautiful, it was the political center of Europe. Anything that happened in Paris spreads everywhere, from powdered wigs to poetry and philosophy. Why do you think the British spent so much money trying to quash the French Revolution? Because the French will influence everybody else to decapitate their Kings. Even Luxembourg just let the Imperial Guard ride into town to decapitate another Bourbon, the German kingdoms fought Austria and Bavaria, and Poles rode from Poland to France to join the Grand Armee, becoming the most favored cavalry in Napoleon's army.
      The Philippines nor Manila never had that much cultural clout.

    We are always being compared to Singapore, HongKong and Thailand. There’s that thought that every other country is better than ours and so many of us have come to love those countries more than our own. And so seeing and hearing a lot of admiration from foreigners who visits the Philippines, it kind of like bring some of that pride back knowing that there are people who came from more developed countries have come to love and appreciate our country. So thank you for that!

      How it is stupid? or Why would it be 'stupid'?! ... it's like saying, "it is stupid to eat raw/uncooked food while you're commenting on a sushi video".... Each culture has a unique flavor palate... and in the case of the Philippines, it is the balance of sweet, salty AND sour, with bit of spice/chilly. It is the fresh tropical balance which sets it apart from its Southeast Asian neighbors who tend to gravitate towards spicy and chilly flavors. On the other hand, it is similar to the Mediterranean and Levant regions, where they always squeeze in a slice of lemon on their fried food... It is all a matter of being open to different ideas and approaches regarding culture (food, music, language, etc) and customs. Challenging an idea for the purpose of discussion is alright being a 'Critical Thinker' ; but dissing an idea as "Stupid" just because it is your opinion is plain disrespectful.
