Ghost Video, Ghostly Shadow In Dudley Town Woods

- This video was captured on Chase Avenue in Dudley Town Connecticut. After numerous sightings of a ghastly shadow figure in the woods behind the property, the owners had a camcorder ready and loaded with a tape in the event it was seen again, sure enough on June 17th 2006 the evil looking apparition re emerged and was captured as it shimmered through the thick brush. No one in the town seems to know what it could be, but there were numerous murders committed in those woods over the centuries. The tape was submitted to the Institute of Forensic Parapsychology and after under going rigorous expert examination was deemed unexplainable. Many people since have seen these shadow like forms around the woods in that area, the mystery to this day remains unsolved.

It’s just from far away the camera reads shadows as deeper darkness and it’s not very bright out, the light is from an angle, probably late afternoon. I could scare you worse with footage of my backyard... (but, to be fair, my backyard is pretty scary lol)

This is one of VERY few youtube ghost videos that actually look convincing.
Get this analyzed by a professional or two that can tell if a video has been edited or not. If it's unedited then it will be way more authentic. Not saying this is fake but getting it analyzed will make it a stronger piece of evidence for paranormal activity

When I was a teenager, a group of friends and I went there. We took a camera and tape recorder, but didn't see anything. When we got home nothing was on the tape recorder. Then we got our pictures developed, their were all types of orbs, and smokey clusters all around us. It was spookey!

And the camera is zoomed in and positioned in just the right spot?! Uh... Ok. Couldn't this be a person walking by in a semi-trasparent overlay? (One opaque video without a person in it, then a second video on top but not fully opaque, to give the shadowy figure effect. Not only could this have been done 16 years ago, it could've even been edited to look like this with a film video camera, IMO. Not hard to fake at all if you have a basic understanding of photography and decent acting/bulls#¡tting skills. Lol. Don't mean to call them frauds. Just saying how easy it could be faked.

When it comes to videos, a skeptic will be a skeptic.. so I'm not gonna go on a "discredit this video" rant. I will say that I live in CT and DudleyTown is the real deal. Story I heard was that the water supply got contaminated with lead, driving people mad and also contributing to untimely deaths. I wasn't half as tensed up as the guy in this video is when I went there years back, but the place gives you that eerie vibe once you cross the tree line. No birds chirping, no squirrels, not even a mosquito.. Just uninviting woods. I'm sure a lengthier investigation would've turned up something.. anyways.. I would definitely recommend a trip to DudleyTown, just remember.. times (freedoms) have changed, so watch out for bored cops..

Someone should send this to David Paulides from the Missing 411 series. There's also a lady named Barbara something from the "bigfoot community" who recorded something very similar jumping from a tree 30 feet in front of her. There's also another hunter lady who saw and took a picture of this cloaked being while sitting on a stand turkey hunting. If you think that bears and cougars are the only predator creatures out there in the north american woods, you are out of your damn mind.

That is not a shadow. Those are actually a phenomenon widely reported by hunters. Translucent figures in wooded regions that stalk hunters in the woods. They are usually extremely hard to see except the distortion their bodies make against the backdrop of the woods.

The guys response to what he sees comes off very natural. If its a digital forgery then the voice over makes it very convincing. The thing moving doesn't even seem humanoid. So I wouldn't think it to be a video integration rendering of a human anyway. I definately interacts with the hanging branch as it goes back into the forest. Best paranormal TH-cam footage I've seen and I'm pretty damn skeptical. Very large horse-looking think.

This is 100% real. They glide like that too as if there on roller skates. I’ve had one of these about the same size (when using the trees to scale) run after me while I was sitting in my truck wirh the drivers door wide open. It blew wind at me and I heard the wind and disappeared as it hit me. My dog seen it a bunch of times before I noticed it maybe a half hour before I finally seen it. I was witnessing to this girl and this thing was not happy. She was into witchcraft before and when I left her house after the incident and wouldn’t tell her why she says “was it that big shadow thing?” I was like wtf. Ii'm a big big believer in the paranormal,UFO's,the annunaki,Bigfoot/giants etc etc,but whenever I see these type of videos on TH-cam,I usually think they're faked,but after watching missing 411:the hunted by David paulides,I'm convinced that this shit is very f'in real.In the missing 411 documentary,there was a scene were this cloaked being was moving across some trees exactly like in this video.Its fascinating that most of this paranormal/odd shit takes place in the national parks/forest of the Americas

Just went there last night, I woke up this morning terribly sick. I had no trouble with the police or the residents near the area, the only weird thing was when I was trying to find Dark Entry Road, I found it and slowed down the car behind me did a U turn and spun around as fast as he could bolting in the opposite direction. Really disturbing place, it is a negative energy spot and you will feel it.

So if you look at other parts of the frame during the shadow sequence you can see contrast levels definitely bugging out a bit which is very typical of video editing

I was at fairview hospital in MA south of Stockbridge and my boss lived in a town in CT called Warren and I drove down rt.7 to get there no idea I was driving right by this area, so it peeked my interest when I heard the location
Graphic Designer here. I work with adobe photoshop, illustrator etc. every day
I don't see any signs of CG editing in this video. Also don't see the "contrast levels bugging" out that u claim to see..... which isn't even really a sign that it's been edited, more likely to be a sign of the camera itself auto adjusting to the light exposure and movement.
This video is 100% legit. For starters it's 15 years old, it was much harder to get good quality editing software back then. Also, I myself caught the exact same shadow figure on camera back when I was a teenager. The texture, movement of the shadow..... it's identical to what I caught. Whenever I see shadows like this on video, I can immediately tell they're legit. Even without my Computer Graphics expertise

Dudley Town is a ghost town in Cornwall, Connecticut. It was a popular place to visit until people started to report strange sightings, unexplained murders, and mass suicides. In some cases, the town residents experienced hallucinations which included demons who commanded them to commit suicide. It was also a regular occurrence for sheep and heard animals to go missing in the town.

Yeah, i lived around the Dudley Town area long enough to know what’s really going on. Those shapes and figures people keep talking about? Just the younger witch covens out there. They’ve been doing it for years-rituals, sacrifices, all of it. It’s how they keep their traditions going. You get used to seeing it after a while. They’re not trying to hide it, either. It’s just part of the place, always has been. People can call it haunted, but that’s just the surface. What’s really going on is much darker, but honestly, it’s just normal for those woods.

You really need to look up Dudleytown, Connecticut... I'm from Southern Connecticut and have heard the stories of Dudleytown since I was a child. According to "folklore", this was a village and the inhabitants ALL went missing (circa late 1700's & again in 1920's). Many ppl who have hiked up there have gone missing. I didn't K anyone lived there today... last I heard nothing lives there (no birds chirping, no animals etc) and it has been deliberately left abandoned. The stories even go back further to the Native Americans... I'm sure there's more info online or in the local Town Hall. There's plenty of youtube Paranormal folk that do research around that locale. The fact that you live there and have a lovely British accent leads me to believe that you are unaware of the history. If I saw that thing (that can not be seen) & lived in Dudleytown, I would want to know more. I do know friends locally that know the entire story of the village and know of local Native Americans that are familiar with all the folklore... reply if you wish to contact me and I can see if I can help you find out a bit more via the web. I would be interested to learn more about the true history and any resources you might have or people you might know locally as far as Native Americans and possibly being put in touch with someone who might have some insight or knowledge that is undocumented and only circulated amongst local tribes people. If you live nearby, go to a local library and ask to speak to the genealogist if they have one on staff. They should be able to provide you with the REAL history of the local residents from whatever era you want to know about. We have a very knowledgeable genealogist at every library in my local area. They know more about your history then you do. I was amazed at what they knew about my family that I had never heard. They should also have a lot of local newspaper articles on microfiche about happenings in the area. Very handy for researching.

I'm from Waterbury CT and I'm 47 now back in the days between 16 and 18 years old. ( Can't exactly remember how old I was long time ago lol ) I remember my close friends going there and they said there was no sound not a cricket not any bug sounds no wind nothing and every picture they took that was able to develop. ( Got to remember this is back in the 90's ) out of like 10 only one came out with white orbs in it. I feel like you search for bad energy it ends up attaching it self to you. This is a very good video. I have went frame by frame for the most part and in the frames between 1:38 to 1:43 you can see an anomaly on the right hand side of the video. Watch closely and you will see it pause and then go pause and then go. Normal actions of any bird or insect would be a no kidding straight shot without any pause. Hummingbird maybe but this flies straight up in the air. Also, go through the frames right here on you tube and you can see shifts in the video scenery.

Unfortunately for this hoaxer filming a backdrop in three dimensions is discernibly different than filming a two-dimensional still that is then manipulated to look like something moved the leaves. Rubbish like this just doesn't help the case for serious, justifieable investigation into the subject.

I’ve followed this since the beginning prior to 2010 and listening to the voice and reaction and everything...periodically through the years and I personally think this was a real encounter. You can see the shadow move through the woods and videos were hard to fake in those days.
Wish the location was more specific because dudleytown woods (any woods in the northeast US) are known for being dark and still in the spring and summer .....especially before a thunderstorm ⛈. If I’m wrong I wish the person behind this should come forward. Or just conclude it’s the predator (kidding) cue predator music Better light chameleon than the movies....if he had balls he’d go out and chase/film it

In taking a close look between 1:37 and 1:40, I see a man walking a horse, which fits with the time period that Dudleytown was active.
You can see the legs/feet of both beings, as well as the neck, belly and back of the horse as it turns into the woods. Not only that, but the rhythm, pattern and gait is consistent with that of a horse walking.
At least, thats what I see. Are there any other equestrians here that see something different?

sorry to tell you, but years ago you were able to drive straight through, which is what a friend and I did on our motorcycles, we stopped and were silent didn't hear a sound or see anything! also, the property borders the state forest.
I want to believe but this just shouts lazy after effects transition on the stillest cleanest piece of footage, and all with the house open like that with a demon on your doorstep.
This is awesome footage what makes it even more believable is his response brilliant..

I don’t think those are ghost but some kind of being that we have no knowledge of.
Ct woods get very dark ,.. crazy how this was taken 16 years ago ,.. I seen that clear as day .. wow

It's not a question of not being imaginative enough (I'm a musician and an artist, so please don't lecture me on this subject), it's a matter of keeping your curiousity focused and reasonable.
I normally don't believe paranormal videos I see and I'm normally skeptical too but my gut tells me this is genuine because I have seen something nearly identical before in the woods in new england when I was outside camping for a couple weeks . No one would believe me
I saw it. Towards the end of the video, it moves from the right side of the screen to the left. I don't know what it is though..

The footage is convincing. Very subtle with the effects, nicely done. However, I thought the acting was poor and enough for me to think this is fake. I'm not saying it is fake, just that I think it is. You lot can make up your own minds lol. Nice video either way!

Tried going there with my bf the other day but there were no trespassing signs everywhere and there was a camera on the end of this road we went up to go there (dark forest rd I believe) and it was getting super dark out so i was like hell no im not going in these woods in the dark. So one of these days we will come back early while its bright out and we found a different way there where theres no camera at the end of the road lol.
