Best video I've seen on this. I was wondering where I'd mount it. For a simple lifted '11 F150, I think the best place is to mount them is on the shock eyelet holes. I'll take the unmounted length of the shock and subtract 4" and that'll be the length for my strap. I'm not doing this mod to prevent droop while flying through the air; I never do that. I just don't like how the weight of the whole rear axle with massive wheels rests on the fully extended shocks and brake lines while the truck is on a lift. So this will prevent that whenever I put the truck up on a lift for maintenance or other mods.
@BustedKnuckleOffRoad so I am trying to add a pair to my rear 07 Toyota 4runner. I lowered it to the point that only 2 fingers side to side can fit but I have a issue when articulation kicks in. The springs become loose which could slip and which you know what.... I want to ass a pair (without any welding ) to prevent the full extent of the strut. I wanted to know if I could curve the end ears on the strap and mount it on the top end where the strut and the other end on the lower strut bolt up area?
@@BustedKnuckleVideo just a touch of stretch to absorb some of the stress of suddenly bottoming out. the amsteel blue should be able to handle that stress. but, I get what yer sayin. not trying to be an ass, I just like to ask questions to better my understanding and knowledge. y'all have a badass day 🤘🏻
Now I get what the limit straps do. The design theory behind the bouncers is incredible. It seems there are bouncers and bouncers but anything with BK is some serious shit!! Go guys. Where were the outtakes? I was sure the word "droopy" would feature 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah well explained.. I seen another post trying to figure out the equation an he gave me a headache.. glad found knuckle busters.. got a suki sidekick an I have a suspension lift but everytime I went trailing my back springs would fall out.. I was gonna weld a chain but think the straps would be way better an smoother🤟
I would not recommend anyone twist their strap. The strands on the outer edges have further to travel then the strands on the inside. This will reduce the straps rating exponentially. Also the theory regarding where to mount the straps works for bump stops. Many rock bouncers have them in the center. Watch roll over videos when the shock caps pop off. Bump stops in the wrong position.
@@BustedKnuckleOffRoad true but iwas thinkin double too start ive only got a samurai rig lol but 4x would be real strong 😉 iam a budget builder and using 100%parts laying around iam sure ill spend cple bucks somewhere but less than $100 iam teachin somone how too build a buggy and hope too post outcome...parts donor buggy was $225 years ago granted samurai parts can be valuable😉

Welcome to the New Channel!
In regards to droop is there an angle you should not allow your lower control arms to go past? This is for IFS.
stop the travel before your CV binds.
@@BustedKnuckleOffRoad depending on design of cv shafts is it possible to go past a point of angle on an a-arm that would be no good?
yeah I was going to ask about the X3 but you guy put them on the RZR i can do the X3
if you know the lengths you need we can get you setup
Just found this channel and subscribed thank you for doing this type of video's and the channel
Thanks and welcome
When you mentioned bolt hole center to bolt hole center, did you mean where the shocks bolted??
Yes

I wonder how a 1 inch thick piece of amsteel blue would work as a limiting strap? it is stronger than steel and has no stretch.
you want some stretch

no worries, we like feedback and suggestions
Great video. Glad I didn't get a cheap ebay strap for my jeep. Will be ordering 4 of your straps
Thanks! We have most sizes in stock and ready to ship.
You must have been taught that new math lol . 1” per 12” . 24” is 2” less so 22” lol
Nope regular math
Can you have your limit strap connected from frame to your lower 4 link bar ?
you can
Thanks
you're welcome
Ok I subed 😁
Thanks Steve!
I searched online for limit straps. BUSTED KNUCKLE BRAND NEVER SHOWED UP IN RESULTS
well dang, you can get them at www.bustedknuckleoffroad.com
Awesome vid! Keep them coming! Maybe y’all could do a similar tech vid on bump stops some day.
We can do that, here is an old one for now- th-cam.com/video/aO7ueJYK6l8/w-d-xo.html
with limit straps then is it possible not to use a 3 or 4 link suspension, and just have the coilover?
Limit straps only limit the shock from topping out.

this was our first one, we will be doing outtakes from here on out on them all.
Dude I need some BK straps sponsor me for KoH
we don't really do sponsorships

I wanna buy one of those behind you. How much??
Our builds start at $85,000 USD
24 inches on the dot ;)
perfect

Twisting of straps is not the best idea but can be used in a pinch if needed.
do sane people this and enjoy it
we are all a little crazy
First haha
nice
Use old seat belt straps
I don't think they will hold up to the abuse like these quad wrapped limit straps

nothing wrong with making junk yard parts work for a budget build.
