    Japan is the second largest music market, but japanese artists are focused on the domestic market, and most Japanese music companies are almost unknown outside the country.

    their producer is half japanese half korean ex kpop idol so when he discovered these girls and saw the potential the girls have he decided to train them in korea and japan back and forth, he used the kpop fundamentals kpop enterteinment uses to create idols so they became trainees for 5 years now the only difference with these girls is that they are not labeled as a Kpop or jpop group, they're labeled as a global group with a HipHop/R&B/Pop core, japanese culture and black culture have been holding hands for the past 40 years, japanese were the fisrt country outside of america to promote Rap&hiphop and also the first country to promote rappers in the 80's in Japan, also SOUL TRAIN was the first to envite a japanese band in 1980 so this is not appropiation at all Japanese have a huge background with black culture for decades, the XG's producer is also working with other black producers and writters from Atlanta thats why you hear this R&B sound in their music like TLC,Cherish,SWV,Aalyiah,Mary J blige etc etc they are XG's inspiration artists, XG is that group they are different 🔥 they quietly taking over. Awesome reaction👍 thank you for supporting XG🙏

      I hate it when topic like appropriation. If you dont like them dont listen or watch. The girls are just music lovers and they want to perform.
      Among the thousands that want to sing, perform and listen, only few attracts attention and following.

      @@gabbyjay6372 I'm tired of it too, it's almost like they're envious of the fact that Japanese girl's can do Hip-hop and R&B as good or refreshingly better than Black artists 25 years later. Are they not proud of the fact that other countries around the world embrace their styles in music,clothing and hairstyles. I guess there will always be people that will feel disrespected and think their culture is exclusive only to them to express and enjoy amongst themselves yet are so proud to show it off themselves to others and when other people from another country want to emulate them because they love their culture, they feel insulted and feel their Black culture has been disrespected. Like really ! Every free nation in the world believes in the rights of every human being having the fundamental rights to live his or her life as they want as long as they follow the basic rules of law. I have every right to wear my hair in any style I want ( no race in the world owns a style of their own, it's hair). I have every right to wear any style of clothing I decide, again my right as a free human being. I have a right to listen to any style of music just as an artist has a right to express him or herself in any musical style the world has offered into our musical domain. Black culture may have planted the seed of Hip-hop, rap , R&B into their musical culture and I thank them for that because I love these styles of music. I'm just so disappointed that people have to ruin it by bringing up cultural appropriation over music which is meant to bring people together, not create disdain for one another.

    They have a documentary coming out soon, maybe on or around their anniversary date (03.18.22), so they’ll probably go more in depth about it, but their label/producer was back and forth on either debuting them in Japan or Korea, ultimately choosing Korea of course. In my opinion, I feel like it debuting in Korea was the better option since every day there’s a music show and it gives the girls an opportunity to show off their talent. I’m not quite familiar with Japan/J-Pop’s promotional stages, so I don’t know if there are any. The girls currently have a performance going viral of this song on a music show because of the matching outfits and because they looked like a legit dance group, synchronized and everything. They only have 4 songs right now, they’re planning a mini album soon, and all their songs are in English (since they want to reach a bigger audience).

      As far as the CA goes. For whatever reason the hair stylist this comeback liked putting one of the girls in braids. We told their producer if they could stop putting them on her, 'cause you know, it’s CA and they’re trying to reach a global audience and that’s not going to slide, but also ‘cause she posted a pic of her hair and it was all damaged. Their producer sent an apology to a fan through DM (the fan who sent it to him in Japanese) and they haven’t played with her hair since. Thank God.

    Korea's music market is bigger than Japan's, so XG is active in Korea.

    Begging fellow nonblack xg fans to stop telling black ppl how to feel abt cultural appropriation vs appreciation etc etc 😭😭😭 (Cocona does get some questionable hairstyles, esp early on tho. A group of fans got in contact w/ the producers who said they'd be more mindful in the future tho so here's to hoping!)

      Well, I am black. Appropriation is such BS. As long as people aren't mocking a culture there's nothing wrong with emulating the style of other cultures. We don't own hair styles or clothing. All cultures braided hair. It's absolutely silly to say people can't do these things because they are the exclusive domain of black people. 🤦🏾‍♂️ These girls grew up listening to hip hop and R B. There's nothing fake about their love of the music and culture.

      When TLC Left Eye did asian influenced hair & makeup she did great RIP, or when Wu got Kung fu into Hip Hop, no Asians are claiming rights, Wu-Tang Clan is for the children. Kung fu Kenny gets props, Lupe in his karate gi gets props. XG is trying to trancend the beef, more power to them.

    Since you've brought up CA, continuing to follow XG, you will find out that Cocona's hair styles might not be up your alley. But, if you like their music, you should get over, because Cocona loves wearing braids and she's not doing it as a form of CA, but rather as a form of appreciation of the black culture. In all honestly, i hope that you will not misunderstand Cocona's intentions as CA because you would be totally wrong!

    • @j.4867
      @j.4867 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pause. Let’s not say “you should get over [it?].” Plus, it’s not that she liked it, the stylist would have her wear braids. Don’t speak for her, especially on a topic like this. Regardless, it is CA, and it was taken care of because fans told Simon to stop and they haven’t put them on her since.

      @@j.4867 regardless, i love me some XG and especially Cocona. I don't judge her either she liked it or not. I was just telling them what to expect. And stop trying to mute people. Everyone is free to talk whatever the f they want.

    LMFAO. Left out the "BRAIDS" so ignorant. Asians wore braids in the ancient times, especially Southeast Asia.
