Melodeath feels like metalcore without breakdowns and clean pop rock choruses. I listen to a lot of metalcore and the riffs are similar, it seems I've heard this before...
metalcore wouldnt exist without melodeath bands like In Flames, At the Gates, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, Carcass and many others. It virtually combined European melodeth and american hardcore.
Pop rock chorus... c'mon dude. And metalcore would not exist without melodeath, the riffs from in flames, at the gates and Dt! They are the Maine reason why metalcore existe these day.
that depends on the band. I know what you mean but melodeath can sound so much different. sympuls-e and sunless rise for example are way faster and more melodic than any metalcore and interloper (the old songs) are way more technical. melodeath is very divers. i have a playlist called "best of melodeath" you can check that out
