"I'm a genie in a bottle..." I feel ya. And I'm a big fan of Tony Yazbak/Zach but I feel like A Chorus Line is a bit dated. I saw it as child--- Original company. It was errrythang! I've even directed 2 youth companies as an adult. Maybe I've gotten too close to the material? Anyway I think the 2008 or 9ish company works it just fine via bootleg. And like you if it were free? I'd go in a heartbeat!
I hope they put this on video and release it here on TH-cam or perhaps have it be one of PBS' Great Performances or a feature in the Fall Arts Festival.
It seems so stupid to me that shows aren't recorded and released on DVD or for streaming. Anyone that loves the theatre will always see a show live as opposed to a filmed version. But people who can't always get to see a show will pay for a filmed version of it. And a filmed version will continue to see years after the show has finished. Take RENT for example. They made a movie out of it, a terrible movie. They should have filmed the show and released it. Which they did eventually. I dare say the sales from the filmed Broadway show exceeded the sales from the Hollywood version. All this talk of Wicked the movie....no one really cares. They will take it, but what people want is a recording of the show.
I was blessed to see Robyn Hurder about 10 yrs ago as Cassie on tour at Hershey Theatre .....incredible!!! Please film this talented cast for all to enjoy forevermore 👏👏👏🌞
I would give anything to see this - much less, be in it. My cousin is Kay Cole, the first Maggie in A Chorus Line on Broadway... What I wouldn’t give to be there to see this.
Jazlyn Dingfelder Please tell your cousin she’s a legend and her work in originating Maggie will never be forgotten. On TH-cam there’s an old black and white grainy recording of the original cast performing live! It’s a treasure because the sound quality is there and though the picture quality isn’t the best I got a real sense for what it must have been like to see the original cast!
Awesome show, but when are revivals going to dump the tired OLD costumes. The show has become a museum piece. I’m sure a talented designer could do something great.
Thomas Santos Never. It’s part of the charm and the characters. For someone like me who just discovered ACL when I finally see it I want to see Michael Bennett’s Chorus Line!
Unfortunately, trying to "update" an iconic show like this ends up being a misguided effort most of the time because the focus goes primarily into shaking things up which means the new creative team takes on this "anti-original" attitude and they end up with something that is too self-conscious and too focused on changes for the sake of change. You can see where this would inevitably lead to...a production that swaps what has worked and has been time tested for revisions that merely distract from the simple greatness of the original. The original was so well staged, it was completely satisfying in every way. Doing anything to erase the original from people's heads fails because new versions typically overcomplicate things, muddling the show's former cohesiveness, trying to extract from the work a show that it never meant to be. I've seen far too many ambitious restagings of iconic shows that fall flat. I just would rather be safe and go with the surest bet and for this show, the original is king.
TOMMY IN THE ROLE HE WAS BORN TO PLAY GOD BLESS.
Emily Mantini, Is he really that small or was the rest of the cast gigantic?
@@bookofdust Oh he's really that small
Michael Clark yeah, he’s 5”4
My heart says go but my wallet says no

Tara Kostmayer as Morales is PERFECTION!
2 Years after this and I want to know why producers did not transfer this to Broadway! A Chorus Line needs to come back to Broadway!
Tony Yazbeck is THE HOTTEST Zach in this production… love the costume.
So brave!
Patti would NOT be happy with 2:38.... 😂
I can't help it, but when I see this the only thing I can think of is Will Ferrell in Land of the Lost.
MELANIEEEEEE 💙🌸💕
🙌🙌🙌
Damn they really did Diana dirty with that costume tho
this is amazing! its transferring right?
memey nah, the 50 anniversary is only 6 years off, they won’t pass up that opportunity
YES SARA!!!!!!!!!!
Set design is beautifully sparse. Not one bit of empty space is wasted.
James Polk, I dunno, that Exit sign reflection really pulled focus for me.
What happened to Leigh Zimmerman?
0:27 You're welcome fansies lol
I'm obsessed with Tommy Bracco!! He's awesome!!
FIRST!
😊

MELANIE MOORE?!?
Boy, the only one Whois a natural is the tall Afro American. The rest look like his backup. Pure vanilla.
