- What's good ALPHAZ?! We react to episode X4 to the XG Documentary that covers the beginning of the creation of XG, a girl group that's "A New Breed, Breaking Boundaries." We get introduced not only to the 7 girls of XG, but the other girls that helped them get to where they are today. This episode covers an introduction to Cocona and Maya, the lengths Yui and Maju go to not be sent home, what Simon wants the girls to realize, Maya Chisa and Juria fighting for their spots, an important lecture by Simon, teaching the girls camaraderie, attending a Music Show in Korea, the final dance evaluation, Simon being very stern, and a preview to Episode 4.

Facts! She is born for this!
Man Kokona was already a beast at 13. She's a sleeping dragon needing to be unleashed. The 3 improved sooooo much in that 6 mo from 1st KOR training camp to the 2nd. This had lots of BTS content & now getting to the juicy part of dancing n singing. Was hoping for you to pause edit the river flowing letter scene but Simon had jokes. Great reaction

42:25 I didn’t expect Jurin to break down and cry after being told of the shortcomings in her singing , cause I always see her as a strong person. And Amy was the only one there to comfort her, it is not difficult to see why there is a strong bond between them ❤
Yeah. It goes to show not only how much they've grown, but how much we still don't see behind the scenes.
We must understand that according to what they have shown us in the documentary, Jurin has always had a high standard in the eyes of others and we know that the more you give, the more is expected of you. And that ends up becoming more pressure and stress that can play a trick on you. In her advances you see that she learned from Simon's words, her confidence level grew

This episode was a true emotional one! I could feel every emotion and words that Hinata shared and Simon! Cant wait for the next one!! And Cocona?! She truly was born to be an artist/rapper!!

Bro old men (myself included) crying 😂 over their journey in hardship and life lessons about success doesn’t come easy or instantly. It’s grit, determination, tenacity and more. I’d wish I would have gone through such journey at their age. My son is 12yo now it gives stuff to think about. Anyway I feel you 🫶✌️

I just realized Cocona was rapping to Logic's - Homicide in either Korean or Japanese ( I'm not sure which ). But the talent of effortlessly flowing through that like Logic does at his point in the business is astonishing.❤🐺
Hinata's journey has been one of feeling different from other girls and not having confidence, and I'm so glad to see her personality and talent in the spotlight now that she has gained her confidence with the X-Galaxy family.
Once again I see how much Simon has put into all the girls, the emotion the effort to get things done right without holding back to form these girls into who they are today.
Im so grateful for Simon and these girls and this documentary because it's so inspiring, and I couldn't imagine how I'd be doing without this. I have so many issues to overcome and this is helping me through them slow and steady.👏👏👏Thanks to XG.
There's a lot to learn from the struggles and growth XG has overcome and shown for sure. As far as Cocona's evaluation, I'm sure with rap it's more about the cadence, attitude, delivery, speed control. So I don't expect her to be performing anything original line for line, so I can definitely imagine it being in Japanese. Even the first evaluation shes rapping on is by Superbee a Korean rapper. I think she was definitely spitting something original. Or maybe she did memorize the verses at age 13? Who knows with this girl she crazy.
Really a crazy episode. The time jumps were a lot here. But it was so good to see so much behind the scenes.
I am so curious to see how we came to the 7 members we have today, cause they already feel like a group of 10 members, even from Simon's words. I can't imagine how difficult it was for him to choose.
I’m dreading that final cut episode. The time jumps weren’t too bad. I usually rewatch parts when I’m confused but this react would’ve been 2 hours long lol. I’m going to be sad when this documentary is over. There’s been rumblings that people are unhappy with how much screen time Simon gets, but after this is done I feel we will hardly ever see him. So I actually enjoy seeing Simon grow along with the girls.

Chisa’s Osaka side comes out so often and I live for it. Hahaha I would’ve thought staff picked up the sunglasses but she didn’t have them anymore in the BTS after the show when all the girls had theirs still. Lol

Honestly this episode had a lot of funny parts. And I'm glad they took it this direction. I couldn't do another episode with nothing but punches to the gut lol

Coco has been killing it as a rapper since 13! She scary (in a good way). I swear her voice was even deeper at 13… but again I’m a fan of it! She has the same effect as Harvey just at a lower tone.
In this episode Juria and Hinata showed the most growth.

If there were high res pictures of Hinata's wolf painting could make a patch inspired off the design would be dope.

So much good stuff this episode. Everyone singing and rap especially Cocona. Hinata gifting Simon the wolf painting. Chisa cooking French toast for the girls. Harvey staying behind to comfort Jurin. Simon letters to all the girls.
We still have so much to look forward to like the decision to go all English. The actual situation of Hikaru going to Girls Planet. Oh course, the final lineup of the group.
Just saw a twitter thread where people were complaining the show had too much Simon. I couldn’t believe it lol.
@OG ALPHAZ I swear we used to not have bad apples in the Fandom. I guess that just what happens when you gain more Alphaz. I saw someone say that they should have shown Maya's interaction with her family in the BTS of KCON Japan. I'm like don't you think they deserve any privacy, They are already letting us in way more then they need to.
@@chrislambert9903 I would have liked to see it but only if they wanted to show it which they obviously didn't or it would have been in.
Def wouldn’t mind it either, but privacy is a big deal in Japan so I’m not surprised they weren’t involved in any way. Parents were visible in episode 1 though.
There's a difference in liked to seen it and thinking they should have shown it but I guess they could've just said it wrong. I do that all the time myself.
the line from Simon about telling the girls they won't debut is so heavy. no one would want that task. can't imagine the how hearbreaking that would be

I love the Simon's letters to the girls part.
Plus getting to see the Rap Line do some vocals and the Vocal Line do dancing.
9:00 It is interesting to me that Hikaru thought she was the worst one there.
Maybe that is why she worked so hard and was able to join another group even though she didn't make the cut for XG.
I think it’s more the struggle of being a perfectionist, and the fear of being dropped back down to 03, despite Simon saying he thinks she’s the strongest vocalist. I think it’s apart of XGs identity to be humble and stay hungry.
It’s my understanding that Hikaru was not part of the final cut decision because she qualified in Girls Planet and was given a spot in Ke1er in doing so. I could be mistaken though, but that’s what I believe happened?
Hikaru and Rei are still XGALX trainees. What i was told is that they were both allowed to join GP999 to gain experience and exposure. They did not make the final 8. They were 8 and then Airi went solo. I really don't know what happened there.
@@nattoXG I don't really know the history of Hikaru, before this documentary I had no clue who she even was. Since then I have heard the Hikaru to XG rumors ofc.
@@nattoXG Keep in mind I only discovered XG last week or the week before and I haven't really checked out too many other groups, Blackpink being the main one, saw some Babymonster stuff, and heard XG do a Newjeans snippet.

I've watched this part a lot on my own so I decided to watch it with you this go around instead. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who cried like a baby during Hinata's presentation. I always have had a bias towards her since I discovered the group but watching this when it released and seeing just how much it meant to not only her, but the whole group made me break down like a little child 😭 This episode solidified her as my favorite among on the girls and it's amazing watching just how much she has grown in such a short amount of time
Hinata’s presentation mannn ima cry again when they release her birthday BTS I’m sure. She’s a treasure.

This felt like a season 1 finale. Without a preview for the next episode, I wonder if we'll see the next one in two weeks or if they need more time to edit the next "season".
My fan theory is there are 7 episodes because the thumbnails each feature one girl (this wasnt the first episode without a preview, episode 2 had no preview to 3). I think we technically saw the preview already in the end of episode 3 too. When Simon says infamously "Don't worry just have fun" is definitely in the next episode. And truthfully it might be the whole 45minute performance.
Hikaru has already said she wont be staying with Kep1er past the 2 1/2 years if they renewed a contract.hmmm, i think she fits XG more than Kep1er, but i think she will succeed wherever she goes
My fan theory is she is joining a second group formed under XGALX. Remember, the girls that fell off the docu weren't sent home, they were demoted back down to 03. I feel there's also a reason XG themselves move from XGALX studios Tokyo to Korea, to make room for the up and coming trainees at Tokyo studio.
So by the time Hikaru is already done, my belief is that XGALX has like 1 to 2 girls ready for debut at least. I don't expect their next group to be a large girl group also to maintain a differentiation between XG and them.
Or I could be completely wrong and Hikaru joins XG.

So it’s one thing to sit down and write a letter for each person in the group. It’s a whole different level to read each letter to each person in front of the whole group. Simon is a real one. Can’t imagine how hard it was to later tell 2 people (not sure about Hikaru’s actual status) they weren’t debuting. 🫶🐺
It's a practice the girls continue to this day. They write and read aloud letters for each of the member's birthdays. They show this in their BTS videos XG Days. Harvey's birthday makes me 🥺 everytime.
@@nattoXG yeah it’s a pretty cool tradition they’ve got. One other interesting thing that came up for me was the painting Hinata gifted to Simon. Did she paint that 🐺 bc Simon’s a fan of the animal or bc the pack mentality and idea was already in the works pre-debut? 🤔
That painting was made in 2021. So at that point I believe they were pretty set already with the ALPHAZ / wolf pack concept. Keep in mind they were likey to debut sooner until Covid happened, ultimately delaying plans but allowing them to polish their craft.
