I knew you could eat it but I didn't know how I should prepare it Thank you! We wish we could go to one of you classes. You could always pop into our house building party.
@springalingading - From Dave's Garden site: "Portulaca grandiflora, known as the annual Moss Rose, also has edible leaves, roots and seeds. The roots may be cooked; the leaves and seeds may be eaten raw or cooked, and the seeds ground into a powder for soups."
in our country there is a similar plant like purslane, but it has smaller leaves and small flowers, but all in all looks the same , grow almost in wet and exposed to sun light
From your video, are you in the Lancaster area of PA? I am around State College. Do you have measurements of the ingredients and what other spices that you use for the recipe? Would love to know. Thanks
Hi Bryan, I'm in Brooklyn, NY, although I get out to PA fairly regularly. If you check the full notes under the video there's a link to the complete recipe. Enjoy!
Good evening, please my wife has been bleeding for the past 15years with no child , till now and we've been to hospital more than numbers still no positive result, I need help please
Extremely well BUT keep in mind that purslane is classified as an invasive weed in many places. You'd be spreading something that is already maybe too successful at spreading.
In NY I have found it mainly in sidewalk cracks. But this may have pesticides sprayed on or around it. I now grow my own organically. Check with an organic nursery. You may find it in hanging baskets. It grows very easily so one plant can be propagated for an ever lasting supply.
Theres so many here in California. I've seen abundantly in many park's. In fact that's where i harvest my save purslane. I harvest ten plastic grocery bags of purslane at the park near my house. Divided it to my friends

Do you sell the RELISH!!!? Where!?
Can you eat the kind you get from the garden store that has bright pink or orange blooms? Or is only the wild yellow edible?

I cant turn it up. What does purslane smell like?
No noticeable smell. It is not an aromatic plant.
Sweet and Sour Purslane Relish Recipe LINK does NOT go to the correct page. It goes to the gumbo page. Please FIX.
There are two purslane recipe links below the video: one for the gumbo, and one for the relish.
@@LedaMeredith They both link to the gumbo recipe.
@@emh7956 Yes, they both link to the gumbo. I found the relish recipe here on her site via recipes. ledameredith.com/purslane-relish-recipe/

i have purple flowers on my purslane can I still eat it?
I believe all Portulaca (purslane) species are edible, but have only eaten the yellow-flowered P. oleracea
Is this it?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacopa_monnieri
If you are sure it is a purslane (Portulaca genus)
NO. That is bacopa, a completely unrelated plant. Purslane's scientific name is Portulaca oleracea.
Well I have been eating it and it is pulling bought it from Walmart lol
Cook it in tomato sauce with onion.
