Джонни Флинн замечательный актер! Не смотрела фильм за Боуи. Каков сценарий, таков и фильм. Актер все, что зависимо от него, сделал все по сценарию. Я смотрю на Джонни, как на актера, у которого большой потенциал.

Film critic Mark kermode described the film as "Naff, naff, nafferty naff" and "very bad" and "narrow" and told people not to watch it. I haven't seen it, so I can't comment with my own view, but I do know Mark Kermode is an excellent and knowledgeable film critic.

Having seen the trailer it looks like an absolute turkey, truly abysmal. What were they thinking? No wonder the Bowie estate wanted nothing to do with it. I'd normally say "straight to DVD", in this case I think it's more likely to be "straight to Poundland's DVD bin".

It was awful simple as that really. I feel sorry for Johnny though because his portrayal of Bowie wasn’t that bad as far as it can go playing such an icon who will always be so iconic that whoever plays him will be flirting with a potential banana skin. He deserves another shot at it maybe but with a lot better script to work with that would persuade Bowie’s estate to allow Bowie’s music to be used. Then again Bowie was so iconic, unique, and individual, that any film about him like this is doomed to fail.

I definitely went in with Velvet Goldmine on my mind. And I was so confused by the film. Nothing quite happened but also everything happened that never quite gets discussed.
Interesting concept but it felt hollow. Very well acted though. I think if I saw it again I'd be able to look past all the judgment because truly it is a well acted film.
