  • Doing my typical engine rebuild oil pump inspection and minor reco steps to make sure I'm happy with it. Plus rambling about the variations in pumps that you'll see 1980 to 2015 or so - some of the later engines with the plain main bearings have different style pumps I believe, but I don't get involved with them.

If you wish to ask a question about this video, please start with specific info about what you're asking. Model and year at the very least. If you make me guess, I'll not bother.
I do Ducati only, so no point asking a Honda question.
Please don't ask irrelevant questions if you want a response. If you have a tech question on a different topic, email me.

Good one! There are 3 clearances and the backlash to be checked on these as per the manual , although less problematic than the usual metal particules suspect

This is so good to see, very high standard of work. I learn so much detail. Thanks Brad. I live in UK. Range -2 to 33C st2. 1998. 12000 miles. Is a 15 50 ok or 20 40. Does it really matter. And fully synthetic 4T, changed everything years with filter? Or is it just what makes you feel good?
    Cheers Rich

i wouldn't run a cold weight over 15 or a hot weight under 50. but it's water cooled and you're a bit cooler than us so you might go one lighter on both. i've noticed the air cooled engines certainly getting noisy when hot with 40.
