Beautiful, but I am a clod. I would have an awful time getting the "rays" on. I'm going to use the bottom wire of the ray for my frame. I will cut and bend after I do the rays. What do you think?
Totally a good way to do it, for sure. Lots of people do it that way actually. I just do it this way as I find the bottom wire can get a little “battered” in the weaving process and I’m just a bit of a perfectionist lol 😂 But absolutely do it your way… it’ll look gorgeous 🥰
Is there a reason you don’t just build it on the first wire? Once you’re done with the wire wrapping, can’t you just pull the three upper wires out, then bend the remaining wire? That seems simpler….but nicely done, nonetheless.
You *could do that for sure 👌🏼 Bit I find that when you’re bending the wire around to make the frame, it can be hard to get it perfect 🤩 I hate being a perfectionist 😂

Hi that was wonderful .. can you please suggest a design for an octogenarian for her bridge club outings! I want to make a pair and present it to her. Thank you!
@@samanthalatimer1 I was thinking of earrings or a bracelet. She likes to dress and hit the bridge club at least 3 times week. As I have loose gemstones I wanted to incorporate that into a design. They're beautiful, but you made it hard on yourself. When I make this sort of design, I make the bottom base wire my actual frame as you called it and then bend it into my teardrop shape.
Yes I did make it hard on myself lol 😂 I prefer it this way as I can’t get the frame perfect, but that’s the beauty of making and creating… we can do things in different ways 🥰
I make the ear wires from 0.8mm (20g) wire and I can wear copper in my ears with no issues at all. I advise anyone who feels that they may have an issue to replace copper with sterling, steel or niobium wire to ensure there’s no reactions ☺️
It does turn green for some people. It depends on your skin. You can use a preservative wax to help stop tarnish, or you can get sprays I believe. I’d use a sterling ear wire to help in the ear too ☺️

Those are stunning! But also, i want to say you are such a good teacher!! I have one question, is the 0,5 mm wire also half hard or is that one a little softer?
Es muy bueno y muy asequible. Si lo tratas con un tratamiento de cera y lo mantienes limpio, es un excelente metal para joyería y tiene un color encantador.
Brilliant. You explain it all well, and the camera catches it all...and your laugh is great. Makes it seem we're friends sharing a good time. Thank you!
Ive done these the same as well as.. leaving the top wites crossed, cutting 1cm 18g wa loop on the end, sliping it inside the crossed wires, wrapping those quite tightly with 26g, curling the tips of the xrossed wires down on the outside and then using the loop in the middle to attach a jump ring. Just another cute look. 🤷😁
Ah you’ll be fine. Although a couple of people have suggested using the bottom base wire as the frame and bend that into shape with the wrapped wire on. That would be ok too. This is just how I make mine 🥰 Have fun 🤩
You could certainly use the bottom base wire and bend that into shape the frame, but I find it easier to remove the wrapped section on place it on the frame after. What type of wire for the 24g? For the 18g you said to use half hard but for the 24g you didn’t say what type?
Either soft or half hard would work fine for this design, but half hard probably better. Sorry for omitting this info ☺️

Just wondering, instead of pulling it off the last wire would it work if I just cut the base wire to the size I needed instead of transferring it?
You can totally do that 👌🏼 I just do it this way as it’s the best for me, but the beauty of jewellery making is that anything goes. 🥰
