Male pandas have to get a "sex ed" by, well, watching their mothers, cause they only get into the mood when the male performs certain practices ( I think it included biting and/or grabbing the female, can't remember it exactly). Since captivated pandas usually don't have sex, the males don't learn what they're supposed to do and that's where the myth about them being sex lazy comes from.
