I saw this guy at LAX while I was picking up my Aunt at the United Express Terminal a few weeks back. He walked by me to pick up a bag and I thought "gee that dude looks familiar". After he picked up his bag he walked by me again and we made eye contact, right then and there I realized who I was looking at. I wanted to tell him that Chowdr is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard, but I was paralyzed with awe and didn't say anything. Moral of the story is to not waste opportunities to give thanks to someone who has made a impact on your life.
If you haven't heard this whole album do yourself a favor. I listen to it almost every night on repeat while I sleep, and it's one of the very few pieces of music I can do that with. He talks about finding strength within yourself, inner peace, and expanding your mind, which is so refreshing after constantly listening to R&B singers talk about pussy to no end. I got to meet Ringo in Philly when he kicked off this tour, and his realness just blew my mind. I swear this music has made my life better
I love it when the bass n beats that are coming from my son's room are shaking the whole house and I have to go in there and yell, "SON! That is TOO funky! Who the heck IS that? Crank it up some more!" LOL. P.S. That actually just happened, and so here I am. :)
yeah i played that part over and over and over again on a 45 min drive back home . yes yes and more yes - i need that part looped for like 2 mins straight
At the same time I sense an undertone of criticism there. The dude with the red cape resembles the image of God, and seems to be selling something. He promises mountains to these other Gods that are interested in this promised land, but you clearly see there is some trickery going on in the way he presents it and people are sold by it. Why would he himself not go in there? And at the end he seems quite content that they're gone. It's Yahweh (I think?) who creates this beautiful world for Adam and Eve, and then smites it when it gets out of hand. So maybe this artwork is a criticism of the music industry, and of ideology-even that of mndsgn himself-in an artistic and humorous manner of satire. I don't know though if that is fully how the makers intended it, but it seems to me at least plausible Another way to look at it would be that he's a teacher for other beings to go through a portal into "a" or "another" world of possibilities (or maybe the portal represents some kind of self-transformation pathway) and _"realize"_ their own reality. But then still I feel this critical message in the lyrics and clip, as if the teacher or salesperson is acting more "knowing" than is really true.
The lyrics speak from my heart and reflect my thoughts, the video captivates my eyes, the beat hits my stomach and goes through the blood in my legs ... this is soul music that touches me deeply ... it reflects my deepest inside and won't let go of me.i love everything about this masterpiece!
