Don't forget about the support ships oilers and store ships. I served on an oiler. While the ship is nuclear the aircraft still need fuel, and the crew still needs to eat. The Navy's service force is lacking.

NATO needs to find roads to use in case airfields and aircraft carriers are not available. There are more missiles than airfields and aircraft carriers.
They're harder to take out than many believe. We threw everything we had at the USS America (CV-66) over three days and couldn't sink her. They ended up having to use Marines to plant charges to finally do so. And these attacks didn't even have to contend with the strike group's air defense and CAPs.
