      It's fantastic to hear that you're enjoying your Vivo Kits, mate. I completely understand your hesitation about sizing down. One reassuring factor is their 100-day returns policy, providing you with some security in case they don't fit as expected. Additionally, on the website, there's a helpful tool under the size selection called 'Who is my Vivobarefoot size,' which might confirm your inclination. Thank you for your support and for using my code. 🙏

    I got the white color way. I changed the laces for stretch laces as well. I love the Primus knits because they eliminate tongue-slide and are fully pull-on with elastic laces added. I was in between the 41’s always felt a bit tight, but now they feel like a good size.

      Love to hear it John. I can imagine stretch laces work well with these 🙌🏻 what colour laces did you opt for? Any specific brand you recommend?

    It's great to see you mentioned/included Nike Free coz there's where I'm gonna be transitioning from. I've wide feet and once dislocated my right toe (looks like bunion now). So I was thinking of getting a Vivo knit, and when I saw your Nike Free also in knits, I didn't need to think twice ^_^

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing Lao! Ouch, dislocated toe sounds painful.
      I'm not sure what the current range of Free's is like, I got mine a long time ago. I certainly enjoyed them over a conventional trainer. If it's any help, I find the Free's 'tight' now, so worth considering choosing vivo's to provide your dislocated toe some freedom. If I'd have discovered Vivobarefoot sooner, I'd have enjoyed their movement and width.
      My feet are bashed up from rugby. I've noticed less pain and more foot strength since transitioning to vivo.
      Hope you get some relief and all the best with your decision. Let me know what you decide to get, whatever brand or model. always curious to hear. All the best, Owen

      hey Prisol, thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. My feet didn't feel cold, I spend a lot of time either barefoot, or barefoot shoes + no socks so in this instance I didn't feel cold. Have you transitioned to barefoot? Are you enjoying it?
      The Primus lite knit doesn't have an inherent waterproofing and subsequently aren't designed with that use case in mind. However, I have been in many different conditions, including water and damp grass, although the are knitted, the weave is very close. So doesn't act as a totally porous membrane. The knit is quite heavy weight so not as prone to leaching water as, for example, a NIKE flyknit which I've owned in the past.
      Hope that helps and any further questions let me know ✌️

    These shoes felt amazing straight out the box the only downside for me was the sockliner that was a little bit loose around my skinny ankle when using them barefoot but with socks on i had no problems at all. I have US 13 in nike adidas vans and the shoe fit true to size if you have narrow feet and skinny ankles and want to be able to use this modle of shoes barefoot i would go with the primus lite III instead

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s great to hear peoples real world feedback 🙌🏻 thanks for the comment. It’s a tough call between these and the Primus Lite. I too marginally prefer the Lites. Conversely, I find the Lite Knits a tighter fit around the ankle than the Lites. But as you highlight we all have slightly different anatomical proportions so good to have options.

    Trying to decide between these and the primus lite lll. I currently have a pair of geo courts that fit perfect. I’m a us 8 eu 41. Should I size down to a us 7 if I want that same feel as my geo courts? If I were to go with the knits since the do look longer

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Elijah, thanks for watching. Regarding the sizing, if the Geo court feel right at EU 41, I'd recommend sticking with that size. As for the tough decision between the Lites and the Knits, I get it. Both options have their perks. Personally, I lean towards the Lites because they're my favourite and I bench mark all shoes to them. They just fit my feet so well, but I also acknowledge that the Knits offer superior durability, and the knitted upper is preferable to many.
      With the 100-day return policy, you've got peace of mind knowing that if you ever change your mind or need to swap sizes, you're covered. 😊 Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions or need further assistance ✌️

  • @personalviewing
    @personalviewing ปีที่แล้ว

    With regards to typical running shoes like Brooks and the Primus Lite IIIs, how padded or at least elastic is the back of the shoe where the rear of the ankle would sit?
    I ask as I recently learned that I have a haglund's deformity (bone spur on top rear heel), that can be an issue with the minimalist design of most barefoot shoes. I have never had any issue with traditional running shoes, but my Vivo Barefoot Primus Lite III cause pain in the long-term due to the tight (non-elastic) unpadded rear of the shoe. The pressure on the rear of my heel causes the bone spur to inflame my achilles tendon. Thankfully it is relatively minimal as the inflammation only got bad after consistently using them as my main pair of shoes.
    I am trying to find a shoe that is either more padded like a traditional shoe, or at least elastic so there isn't as much pressure on the rear of my heel and these look promising.

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Daniel, sorry to hear about the inflammation and discomfort you're feeling. I think maybe you commented on a previous video when it first happened. Apologies if I'm remembering incorrectly 🙏
      I have no experience of Hoka's but the kits do seem slightly more accommodating than the regular Lites. At least with 100 day returns you have some confidence to give them a good try on and decide if they are right for you.

    Which do you find you like/wear more since having both these and the primus lite? Trying to decide between the two. Appreciate the help!

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Tamir, thanks for the question my friend. I don't think you'd be upset by either decision but I'll give some further context 👍 Initially, I was prepared to continue rocking the original Lite's and use the Knits as a backup, but honestly I've worn the Knits everyday since getting them 😃 running, casual wear and workouts.
      The Lites, by their nature, are a fuller expression of a barefoot shoe. They feel almost like a second skin, minimal, great flexibility, extremely light. I love them for bodyweight training + handstands as it provides grip and protection but doesn't impact balance.
      The Knits, although the same DNA, feel more robust. Tiny bit heavier, more substantial composition, and because of that I anticipate harder wearing and last longer.
      These are all relative terms in direct comparison to each other, as either model still provides so much barefoot feel and movement integrity over a 'conventional' trainer. Even the Nike Free's in the video feel cumbersome in comparison [and when I first go the nikes I thought they were great... shows how our perceptions and values change as we go further own the barefoot rabbit hole 🕳️🐇]
      Personal preference will impact your final decision. Would you prefer a conventional trainer fit of the Lite's or the more sock fit of the Knits? The Knits have to be pulled on and they hug your ankle, the Lites slip on. I could wear the knits without going up the laces and they provide a really snug and secured grip of my foot. I slip the Lites on + off no drama, but I tend to wear shoes loose if not running or training.
      All the best with your decision mate, let me know if I can help further. An keep enjoying and embracing movement my friend 🙏
