    I have been thinking about quitting myself because although I am an excellent lasher, I sometimes have trouble with lash retention. I have a humidifier for the winter but had no idea you could buy a dehumidifier. Thank you so so so so much. I love lashing and I have been extremely frustrated. Cant wait for my dehumidifier to arrive. ( i already have a barometer)

    You my dear are BRILLIANT..... I recently sat an EL extension course, which I'm not gonna name names as I think that is very unprofessional..... but i tell you I have learned more watching your videos than i did on the course......
    However ... I do have lots of willing subject to practice on.... and through your help and advice, will get better and better..... and at the end of the day will get my certificate to which I can then get my full insurance.... (only have student at mo) so ... all is not lost..... but if you ran a course I would gladly pay to come on it.... I really would..... and I just wanted to say a very big fat "Thank you" x
    I don't think people realise how difficult it actually is to do ELE .... properly.... this really is a skill......

    All of your videos are super helpful! I’ve never had a whole lot of money so I ended up paying for a cheaper online class so I could still afford the products. Well they didn’t teach me anything except maybe about the different curls. But after spending hundreds on supplies and rializing this I’ve been doing learning from any available sources I can find but after watching your videos in finding there’s a lot of misinformation out there! And of course sponsored channels that just want yo upset products. Not not only do I find unbiased information here but I’ve learned so much because you don’t just hit the hot topics . You go over stuff alot of us beginners never even thought about. Im so greatful for your videos and for people like you

      Hey Denise and thanks for writing this comment. I am so sorry to hear of your experience and sadly this is quite common and one of the reasons why I retrain so many poor students who were not even taught the bare minimums it seems. TH-cam can also be a great source of info, but omg I have seen sooooo many terrible lash videos with incorrect info being shared and this is a real issue. Hi Frankie,
    I put some lashes on my client and five days later she says she only has one-third left. I loved this video. the degrees and temp averages you mention, are they for your area only or is this the "universal" temps and degrees to go by for all lash technicians no matter where they are In the world. I just got my dehumidifier and hygrometer, and I have an a/c unit as well..... I explained to my client that it was the temp issue which makes the adhesive finicky etch...... I don't know what else to do......

    hi I have been following you for awhile now. I've learned so much from you! I have a question and I have been trying so hard to get it on my own but I just can't! I've been lashing for 4 years now and I have a full cliente and I have always done well with my glue retention but this year I moved to a new room and I'm struggling with my temp and humidity! in my own room I did well but I had a door and it was a smaller room. I have a humidifier, dehumidifier and I use a hydrometer. I have always used sky glue which I love, but I can NOT get a set temp and humidity for it to work regularly! each day is different and I can't find a norm! I don't know if maybe the room isn't insulated right or what! does the temp and humidity have to be the same all day for proper application? I feel like my room can not be the same all day it changes all day and now its cold and I run my humidifier all day and it changes all through out the day! how can I tell if the lashes are going to have good retention bf the client leaves? I feel Like one eye is always worse on my clients lately and I think it's BC the temp is changing throughout the service? and within the first week they are coming off with no lash attached:( any advice on what I should do for my retention to last!? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, yes sadly in a room like this your devices do have to be switched on and off throughout the day to "constantly" set the conditions right. My room is the same and really fluctuates but luckily my advanced black glue from my shop www.eyelashexcellence.com copes really well with the ups and down and will give me a 10% range on humidity and a 3 celcius nge too. hth

    What are ways for mobile lash artists to improve their retention? Could I tell my client to help me before hand for best results?

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, so mobile is always hard - as such you will find that few lash artists work mobile because they simply cannot control the temp and humidity. If you DID have to work mobile I would suggest taking a range of glues with you, then seeing what the levels read on your hygrometer and then using on that day the glue that you know suits that level showing.

  • @smilejesuslovesyou8108
    @smilejesuslovesyou8108 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok so my glue says 48-52 is ideal... at home that’s what it is right... and it dries like it says 1-2 sec, and it stays in a glob does get kinda stringy so I drop a head, so I lashed at a shop and it was really hot... but the humidity was 28 and it was curing like what you said... it was really weird I had to drop like 14 beads but I was placing on the lash and it would not stick unless I held it for a bit... and then I would go down to dip my
    Lash.... and it freaking omg I had to drop drop drop... I felt terrible and I did advise my client look since you made me come to your shop... my environment wasn’t ideal for my glue to cure and I explained to her. And I also offered a free touch up within 72 hours hopefully we shall see... my other babes I lash at my house do very wel... I guess I need to purchase a humidifier

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is not advised - glue should be stored at room temp. It can be stored in the fridge before opening but once opened keep at room temp. To place in out of the fridge can lead to a build up of condensation in the bottle and this will make your glue start curing in the bottle

    I want to thank you for your video. How do I keep lashes on in extreme humidity. I live in Texas where its hot all the time. The lash studio where I work keeps it very cold inside...but what happens when the client goes outside according to your video is rapid curing. How can I help this from not happening? It takes me 2 hours to 2 1/2 to complete a set Im a new beginner. Thanks much.

    • @infoeyelashexcellence1145
      @infoeyelashexcellence1145 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first thing to look at is if you are able to control your temperature and humidity in your work space. Are you able to record what your work space is? For this you need a hygrometer.
      The adhesives we work with have very specific parameters that they work best in. If you're doing this then your sets should be 90% cured when your client leaves you. So no shock curing should occur by the time they leave.
      It is very true that we have absolutely no control over what happens when they leave us so all we can do is ensure we are doing our absolute best at the time.

    • @kishmajoseph
      @kishmajoseph 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So your saying that the lashes are 90% by the time the clients leave so the high humidity outside will not affect? I plan to do lashes myself, so what adhesive from you guys would you suggest and what temperature? Thank you.

    • @infoeyelashexcellence1145
      @infoeyelashexcellence1145 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That means that if you are controlling your work space properly then the adhesive should be cured 90% by the time your clients leave you. We cannot guarantee if the outside elements will not effect. But at least you have done your best for them. That is all you can do. You are not able to control what happens outside or when your client leaves you.
      If you are a beginner to lashing then would recommend the Tender

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, You would need a humidifier to raise the humidity and then would need to increase the temperature in your lash room

    • @sandraoneil3559
      @sandraoneil3559 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I want the air to have more moisture for my glue to react slower not faster?

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sandraoneil3559 No, think of baking a cake, the higher the levels, the faster the cake bakes, the slower the levels, the slower the cake bakes. So if you want to glue to cure quicker the levels need to be at the high end of the glues optimum levels - but if you want it to slow, then drop to the lower levels. So although your temp might be correct, if your humidity is low, then you have to raise that. So both temp and humidity must be controlled, not just one. HTH

However, when a client walks out the door she/he might not be able to control the temperature and especially the humidity. What recommendations would you give them to help with retention IF THEY CAN’T control their environment as well as the salon?

      @@patricemosley9537 ok I understand, so this is tricky to a point, however It really is a case of ensuring they avoid very humid or damp areas, so steamy showers, steam rooms, saunas (extreme heat etc)
      It is these "extreme" environments that are the culprits where as the everyday normal environments are fine (work/office/home life etc). If you clients headed straight off to a gym class, swimming lesson, shift in a hot kitchen etc then these would be issues. HTH

    So Frankie Widdows what the number for perfect temperature in America. So if it’s Cold should I use a humidifier or diffuser?

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need to get yourself a hygrometer which will tell you what temperature and humidity level your salon is at, you can then put on the appropriate devices depending on the reading. So the optimum for most adhesives is 19 - 21 degrees and 45-55% humidity but you MUST check with the manufacturer of the adhesive you are using as they can vary. So if your salon was lower than 19 degrees you would need to put heating on, if humidity was lower than 45% you would need to be a humidifier on.

    I have a very dry Studio.. I even got 2 small room humidifiers but can't get it past 21% humidity this winter. I haven't had issues yet but I have been using a nano mister. What is your opinion of nano misting and is this an alternative? I'm shopping for another humidifier but wanted to check with you before doing so. Thank you in advance!

    • @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464
      @eyelashexcellence-frankiew3464  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need a big warm mist humidifier - like a vicks one. Cold mist and little ones do no good. Nano misting will only help the cure - if wont assist the current working environment that you need to be working in.

      This can depend on your client base or your climate. You may have clients that get on better with different glues ( so I'm usually running with 3 different glues )
      If you have a climate that can jump from high to low humidity from day to day you may change your glue to suit this - remember to throw your glues after 5-7 weeks

      Hi Frankie,
      Thank you so much for this, i cannot tell you the nightmare that i have been going though with the current glue that i am using but I guess that you have been though it all so you know. Thank you so much again. Your tips have been the biggest help.
      My aircon doesnt seem to bring my temperature UP i winter, i was told that my glue would be fine to work at 15-17 degrees but i can say that is not the case, its a nightmare. is there any other way to bring temperature up, I am guessing to put aircon on heat is not an option? as i was told?

      Our fastest curing adhesive is rapid 0.5-1 second cure time, however this does need absolute control over your temperature and humidity 19-20 degrees and 40-50% humidity levels for it to work to perfection. It is brilliant for volume and offers great retention. Our next quickest adhesives are Storm (black) and Tornado (clear) and they have a cure time of 1-2 seconds, and work within 19-22 degrees and 40-55% humidity levels. Have a look on my website for guidance on all of my adhesives. www.eyelashexcellence.com
