Well he had been doing it over a decade already maybe he just was tired of it and didn't feel appreciated enough for it either it would be exhausting for the frontman especially his instrument is literally his vocal cords his body not an inanimate object like a guitar just change the strings sounds fine a human needs rest to be tuned up.
