Using a Tone Generator, Solve an Electrical Short on a DC 12/24 volt system - Mobiledieselmedic.com

The problem with Tone Generators is if you use them too far up river and plug them in at the fuse panel what I find is it back-feeds the tone through every wire connected to the positive lead on the battery. Which makes every wire ring line it has a short. Which essentially make the thing useless. Brute forcing the initial wiring harness and then putting the tone generator in-line with the electrical short is far more effective.
