I like where this is going.. is there a wind sock on the mic? Itll only help with the low frequency noise, I don't think it'll temper the turbo whistle. A bunch of good guides come up when searching "Recording car exhaust and engine sounds with wireless lav mics" which is the title of one specific video where the guy got good results. You should mic the exhaust too, can sync both tracks to a honk.
