How far away are the royal rooms from the main lobby and bus depot at Riverside? We stayed at Art of Animation last time, and we stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms; we were so far away from the main lobby, and the walk just to refill our mugs or get something from the gift shops or food was extremely time consuming. I want to be closer to the main buildings next time, which is why i was thinking about French Quarter due to the small size of the resort, but I’m also interested in these royal rooms. Should I go for French Quarter, or splurge on these rooms given my concerns for the size and distance for walking to the lobbies? Also, is the bus transportation too time consuming for early entry rope drop to the parks? I really enjoyed the sky liner at AOA.

The Royal Rooms are a bit further from the main lobby. You can take an internal bus to the lobby area to avoid the walking, but Riverside is a BIG resort for sure. French Quarter is a lot more compact, so no matter where you are you won't be too far from the lobby. You can always book a preferred room if you want to be RIGHT there though. Busses can be hit or miss for folks. We tend to not have issues with the busses taking too long, but the wait is noticeable compared to the continuously running Skyliner. Bus waits are going to be longer mid-day when fewer people are traveling around, but typically they run more at park open and park close.
@@DFBGuide will the bus waits be an issue if I’m up early enough to take the first bus for early entry rope drop? Will I be able to make it to the parks on time?
Does anyone know if Disney just sells plain Magicbands without the + or is this all they sell now? I have a large family and i could save some money buying the regular Magicbands without the extras. Thanks in advance!

Many (most?) of us have busy lives and do not plan to/not interested in Disney California.

You can always walk around the lobbies of Disney hotels BUT parking is usually limited and not allowed to non guests.

Go to French Quater it's a smaller resort and they have some updates rooms. Riverside is huge just stayed there in September
