We moved into my grandparents house in 1966 they both died in October 1965 in a carwreck I can still remember when grand dad remodeled the sleeping porch into a den....
You have so much structure that you got with your acreage and we got no structure. Absolutely a blessing. We purchased our 36 acres of brush and cactus 13 months ago. We now have electricity, soon will have a water well and we have cleared most of the brush to sprig some grass and our creek crossing is almost done. We hope to start our 2,000 Sq Ft 1 bed room house soon. I love your pond. We will never have one like that as we don't get the rain and our land isn't rolling. All of that said, I appreciate your tour!!! Your doing an awesome job.
Really like your channel. Your Great Granddad would be proud. That is a great story about your family owning the land. You will have a great life on the property. The shooting range is right up my alley. Good luck
This channel is a great pleasure for me, a farm life of the sort my family lived, also in southern Illinois, from the 1920s to about 1950, and where I spent summers as I grew up in the suburban world of St Louis. How I wish I could have bought a farm forty years ago!
Evan and Rebecca, You journey reminds me of my childhood on my grandparents dairy farm. Three uncles were dairy farmers as well and we kids enjoyed making hay and harvesting stuff from grandfather's massive garden. IMHO you are amazing and heroic as animals do not care for themselves nor does the land. Thank you for your vlog and appreciate very much all your work and dedication especially while keeping down full time jobs. Courage!
Over 2 mins in commercials. I like it, it says were growing and need funds to help the footage improve. I am more than willing to watch them too for a taste of a dream that I too have :) Thanks for sharing bub.
Years ago I saw when you first got that land. WOW ! It looks SOOOOO much better and you have done soooo much to improve it. Congratulations on a fantastic farm !
Thanks for this great tour of your place. How fortunate you are to live and work on a place like this (which you and your wife have created with your hard work). I've been watching your channel for a couple of months and this tour helps me put things in perspective. I love this channel.
Hey from KY! Thanks for the tour. You have a beautiful piece of Heaven there. Awesome and alot of hard work you have done so far. We live on a farm too. Glad I found this video. I will for sure be watching more.
New subscriber. Your land is beautiful. You were so blessed to get your grandfather's homestead/property. It was meant to be in the family.💖 Blessings from our LORD.
I hope you have good luck with the fruit trees we tried it's such a headache especially when they randomly die at 6 or 7 years old we finally decided to save our efforts and support our local farmers market.
Evan, you bought this property on my birthday, Sept. 30. You and Rebecca have come a long way since the camper, while you were building and now you have a really nice place and it is just getting better and better. Good luck in the future.
awesome homestead! Thanks for the tour. For me the best part is the property buffer from other people moving in next door....must be a very freeing feeling.
We just bought a 44 acre ranch. We are looking to do something similar! Fantastic video. I am so happy for you! Congratulations on reclaiming the land back into the family. You could take a metal detector out and possible find something your great grandfather owned and used.
I haven't seen this subscription in about 4 years at least. I remember when you lived in the camper and were just moving into the property, the trouble you had with fixing up the drive. Good to see the progress, know it is a lot of work, but a labor of love. Good tour, nice video.
Beautiful rolling countryside. Nice work on the property. Have you ever considered beekeeping? They would help pollenate the truit trees and help out the honeybee species.
Love your farm ! Would really enjoy watching you clean up around the pond , maybe plant some cat-tails and a weeping willow or two for shade . could also build yourself a small pier .
Evan, excellent tour of the homestead. The possibilities are endless and will leave you both with enough work to occupy all your spare time. Thanks again
Yes Dave Ramsey. We got out of debt, paid off our house, saved money for a couple years. Bought our property, went back in debt. Sold our house moved to country, went back out of debt. Build dream home, went back into debt. But the mortgage is our only debt now. Couldn't have done it without being debt free and saved money before hand. We still do a monthly budget and follow the Dave Ramsey plan.
@@CountryViewAcres That is good debt. Debt with a plan, Not impulse buying commercialism. The discipline to pull it off is commendable. What an awesome example for your sons. Genesis 11:6.
Thanks for the tour! In Wisconsin, most bank barns are the gambrel roof'd dairy barns. Milking parlor in the bottom and hay storage up above with a silo or two attached to the side. Very interesting to see buildings from different areas and how they were used. I like the way you have long term plans for everything and just keep chipping away at it.
ran across your channel browsing and the restocking the pond video caught me since we have two smaller ponds but appears we have lost most all our fish...loved your tour...what a great set up and plans...we retired and moved 350 miles from our families to N.E. Texas and bought 27 acres with a large barn in need of repairs, a nice shed divided into work area/storage are..electric, water well, county water and septic, perimeter fenced but falling down rusty barbed wire and seller's had a survey...so all those things helped with costs...we moved from south of Houston, Tx. on 4 acres...have 9 rescue horses and 6 rescue dogs...and wanted more land for the horses and to be able to homestead...we just celebrated 1 yr here end of last September 2019...we are raising dual purpose chickens with roosters, meat chickens, meat rabbits, pigs which are now ready to go to butcher, and we got a beef cow that was bred...should calve next May...green house put up and raised beds and fruit trees...it's all coming together...I learned how to can and can't wait for next spring to be planting seed again and harvesting the goods...it's amazing...we know what we raised and are eating...no recalls here...Congrats on your farm...you have done a great job and hope to see future videos...yes I subscribed!
Between you and Nancy and Hollis on youtube I can't decide which homestead I want the most. I think it will be a combination of both. You have a lovely place. Definitely something to aspire to. Thanks for sharing.
Just found your channel. Things look great! I think it would be interesting to see a tour every couple of years just to see how things change. We live on 10 acres. Unfortunately, little over 5 years after we moved on it my husband lost his leg. So we haven't made the upgrades we planned. The property is still meeting our needs, our needs have just changed. I hope your homestead sees you through each stage of your life. I hope your great grandchildren are able to live on and love the property as well.
Check out the nice green grass that has filled in so beautifully. Well Done Evan! It looks great. Same for the alfalfa fields. Where are you going to put your venison? Freezers are stuffed.🐷🐇🐓🦌 Oh my😊 Merry Christmas🎄
Thanks for finally showing us the back part of the barn. A lot of potential back there. More animals and machinery storage. Free run for cattle or horses? I love your property and what you have done so far.
Beautiful piece of heaven y'all have there. I like the idea of everything being spread out like that. I really enjoy your channel and everything you've done to your property. I'm a new sub to your channel and found you when I was looking for Cabin builds. I started watching you build your house and had to go back and catch up from when you started with this property and just fell in love with the story. now I watch every video you put out and can't wait to see what is coming next.
New to your channel, an old man wanting to live a dream like yours. Beautiful property you have there. I’d love to have a 40 acre like yours someday soon.
Wow you have an amazing homestead. I never realized it was that big. I'm sure they're going to be many new projects to come. Thanks so much for the video, Jimmy
Loved what you have done with your property thus far and the plans you have for the future. I have just recently found your channel and have subscribed. I live in Western Kentucky so we are "neighbors". We moved to our farm in 2014 and have only completed a small list of the things I want to do. We have 121 acres and crop about 75 of those, the balance in woods and a creek that splits the farm. Good luck and hope you stay corona free.
Gorgeous property. I am on the search for something familiar. Thank you for the tour and i love how you have everything set up. Scrolling through your videos i have a lot of the same interests and tastes as you. Great video and excited for more in the future. I found your channel from the video of you mowing the old grown up pasture. I currently have my eye on a property that has been neglected for 5+ years and is growing up. I am planning on setting up a spot similar to yours over the years. Now i want a pond thanks to your videos. Lol. I think a mower like yours will suit me just fine. Keep up the great videos.Josh
A great tour. We just subscribed so it was great to take a look around. Looking forward to catching up on your story. We just started our youtube journey this year (we just moved to our property and similar to yours, it is going to take work to shape it into our dream)and it is so great to find people doing similar things. Thanks so much for sharing.
That barn addition looked like a farrowing house 🐖 🐖 🐖 to me. Taste wise is there any difference between duck and chicken eggs? I love your place, such a beautiful farmstead! I really love all you cool idea’s like the water tank conversion into a goat 🐐 shelter, I hope they don’t poop inside it. Stay safe and stay cool 😎
Hey guys big fan of your channel I’m an older want to be farmer retired firefighter. Anyway, after watching ur channel for a few months now I’ve come to the conclusion that u need a dump trailer that could be useful for every aspect of chores your doing. From gathering fire wood, load cement block, and much more…. Just a suggestion I’ve always been taught work smarter not harder!! Keep up the good work enjoying every video… Angelo
Thanks for sharing a catch-up video for your long time viewers and also your new subscribers. I washed all your hard work as a long-time subscriber. Always something to do down on the farm!
Thank you for the tour, Evan. The thing I like best is that, you have kept it looking like an old working farm. I am sure a lot of your followers are envious of you and your place. I know I am. Art in CA
Wow, my dream in an 18min video. Some day I will find my homestead. Enjoy.
I'm happy I found this one. Pretty much my dream place other than the 73 acre farm I grew up on. You're going to do great, Evan.
Hi...... Country View Acres, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍

The area in the add on to the bank barn was where they used to Farrow hogs. Would also work for when your goats are kidding.
Farrowing pens for any livestock is my opinion also. Peace
Having watched a few of your other videos, Now I can picture what you're trying to do. You're a real inspiration.
Wow. Really cool that it was previously in your family.
I love your homestead and I'll be watching more vlogs 💞💞💞

The back stalls maybe was for butcher pigs. The place looks great, great work.

awesome homestead! Thanks for the tour. For me the best part is the property buffer from other people moving in next door....must be a very freeing feeling.
You need some 4 legged alarm systems to let you know when the trespassers are doing the rounds at the pole barn.
damn, so cool that you have an actual pond for your ducks to swim in, they must be so happy doing their thing. :)
We just bought a 44 acre ranch. We are looking to do something similar! Fantastic video. I am so happy for you! Congratulations on reclaiming the land back into the family. You could take a metal detector out and possible find something your great grandfather owned and used.
