@@Timothyjackzon I just got it in today. It's nicely manufactured and coated. Sits in the stand perfectly, better than other makers. The guy even sent me a whole new jar of Wholly Kaw soap. I'll let you know how it shaves after I use it. Got quite the queue of new razors to try 😂
Interesting comparo! If you like aluminum razors with low blade feel but decent efficiency, have you tried a Henson medium or +++ (I hesitate to call it "aggressive")?
@keithosmond5730 I have not. I had the Henson mild v1. Granted I was green back then but I did not like the Henson. I found the angle hard to work with & found it skipped. I picked up the lupo aluminum after it and liked it much better so I sold the Henson. I would be open to trying the Hensons again to see if was my lack of technique or just not a razor style if enjoy.
@alspencer2794 kind of. I have the atomic bay rum splash but only the Classico soap. The “atomic” is spicier and more complex but again not from clove. I was hoping to really be wowed by the atomic splash sample but for me I found it’s the clove spicy note I enjoy. So if you like the bay laurel smell of Classico but want maybe a little more spiciness yet without cloves atomic is the answer. If clove is what you want. Stirling is my favorite or barrister and man bay rum soaps.
@@Stubblemeetssteel Thanks for the response. I have both Atomic Age Bay Rum and Stirling’s Bay Rum. One day Stirling is my favorite, next day it’s PAA. I’m on my second tub of each👍
First off, I will say that I am a 2 pass shaver....any more than that and I get irritation, and it is not necessary. If you need 3 + passes to get a smooth shave, then those razors are not for me, but thank you for the good comparison video! I do like the comments on the soap, to me, the slickness and residual slickness is a lot more important than the aroma.
@thecaribert maybe you get irritation because the razors are too aggressive that can achieve a 2 pass shave? I find that’s the case for me. I can get a 2 pass shave if I omit with the grain pass. I find the across grain pass is rougher as the hair is obviously longer and more effort for the blade without the with grain pass to mow things down a little. The only razor that’s aggressive enough to get me BBS without irritation is the Parker semi slant with a 2 pass. I prefer a more mild/medium razor that can go 3 pass without irritation vs a more aggressive one with 2 passes works better for me. All that matters is you found what razor’s and techniques work for you.
@gonoszteddmaci I am not sure what flavor he released 1st. Regardless he currently has both. I don’t see why someone would want the .95 with how smooth and low blade feel the 1.15 has. Any less blade feel it would be hard to tell if the 1.15 was cutting or removing hair.
Really interesting and enjoyable shave. I’ll give the Shield a try next time they’re in stock.
Ended up ordering the Shield DE Titanium Cerakote because of you 😅
@jaytekkenX happy to be of enabling service 😂
Which one the .95 or 1.15 gap? I ordered his new slant. I’ll do a video when it comes.
@Stubblemeetssteel I went with the 0.95 gap, I prefer milder razors atm. Ohh I saw the slant. nice 👍 looking forward to it
@@JayTekkenXhow is it?

Does this Shield DE razor have non-rounded sharp edges? I read something about this on a forum the other day
@timothyjackzon I don’t find them overly sharp by any means. The blackland Sabre has much sharper corners & it costs $260🤣

Just a side question, have you used PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum and if you have, how’s it compare to the Classico Bay Rum?

I thought by the time Shield released the Alu DE they only offered it in the .95 gap head

@@Stubblemeetssteel Currently what I see in his Ali shop page with the 1.15 gap is his half-de SE head. The only DE head is the .95
The Razolution is a great blade
@cr0sswalk you have tried them??
