Did you know that lions are not typically known for their tree-climbing abilities? But in Africa, there is a unique phenomenon known as tree climbing lions. These lions have developed the skill of climbing trees to escape the sweltering heat of the African savannah and to get a better vantage point for hunting.
So, why do these lions climb trees? One theory is that they climb to avoid the biting insects (like flies) that roam the ground below. Another reason is to escape the heat and find a cool, shady spot to rest. And to escape from venomous snakes and wild buffaloes.
