- HIYA! Here is the PV for "Forest", by La'cryma Christi, in HD 1080p quality. It was taken from the 2010 Singles+Clips DVD.
I've only very recently been discovering this band, and what I've heard is just so good! At their peak, they were considered one of "the big four of visual kei" alongside FANATIC◇CRISIS, MALICE MIZER and SHAZNA.
Forest is one of their earliest songs, it's very fine and well-written, full of surprises. I'm happy to be uploading this, because there are mostly low quality videos of this band on TH-cam. Also, most LC PV's were uploaded before the DVD release, they're bad VHS rips. This site needs good quality videos hehe!
It's too bad HIRO doesn't appear so much in the PV, only two short shots.
The aspect ratio of this PV is quite a strange one, I haven't seen it before, so it took some calculating to get this one right in HD without any stretching!

KOJIが亡くなったしTAKAは戻ってこないけど、もともと幻だったんだと思って これからも聴き続けます。
幻想系ロック。マジでこの頃のラクリマは、唯一無二だな。
冬のヨーロッパのガスライトに照らされた暗い並みを、この曲を聴きながら歩きたくなる。
今聞いても耳が幸せになります☺️
インディーズでこの曲を作れるのはすごいと思います。仕事中も頭の中をリピートするくらい最近聴いてます。
美しくけどこのダークな感じ 僕は全く世代ではないけどこの曲が好き この頃のV系が大好き 海外の人達がV系をもっともっと好きになって欲しい
我が青春そのもの。中学生でLa'crymaChristiの楽曲聞きＴＡＫＡ様の歌声に惚れ、どんどんはまり、インディバンドを知り専門学生時代は、箱通いの日々を送ってた。いろんなバンド見て、聞いて、好きなんですが、やっぱりラクリマ・クリスティが世界で一番好きなバンドです。
小5のとき未来航路でどハマり...田舎に住んでいてライブは行けずファンクラブだけ入ってました。今ラクリマの動画をあさっていますw 今じっくり見たらこんなにすごいバンドだったとは.'.最後、サビ大サビラストサビで転調2回してて、それでもまだ余裕のTAKAさん凄すぎです。
演奏のレベルが高い。ビジュアルが目立つからそちらに目が行きがちだけど、音の隙間がなくて、どの曲聴いても捨て曲がない。インディーズで既に完成成熟していたプロ演奏家集団だったんだと...いまになってわかっても、ライブには行けない...いつか叶ってほしいー！

海外居る時死ぬほど聴いてた。
この曲は邦楽だけどヨーロッパとかの街並みにはむしろ凄く馴染むのよ。
逆にシティポップとかニューミュージックは東京じゃないと聴けんなとあちらで思った。
a excellent song, really transmit something mystic in the lyrics, this awesome band deserve return someday, this is another of their songs that reaches the soul, pure peace, truly beautiful.

wow this is some awesome music. i wished i discovered this earlier.
the vocals is so clear and sharp! the bass is playful! the drums is intricate. and the guitar has alot of emotions!
Very unique and pretty experimental in some parts compared to a lot of the bands at the time. You weren't kidding about ' full of surprises ' Thank you for all you do for us, the 90's VK scene fans!

Interesting. Guitars sound similar to what the spanish band Héroes del Silencio used to do back in the day (in songs like "Héroe de Leyenda" or "La Isla de las Iguanas")
this is the second time ive seen jrock/vkei compared to spanish rock, the other time was tetsu era malice mizer compared to Caifanes, that's also really interesting. And you're absolutely right!! i can hear it!! love live spanish rock and vkei!!

Is there any reason why there is forest and in forest which at the same time are both similar and completely different? Good songs nevertheless
Both are amazing. Forest is from the mid-1990s, I think 96, it's the first version. The band had difficulty performing the song live though because of the long middle section with just synthesizer, so they decided to make "IN FOREST" on 1999 or 2000 (don't remember) which was a rework of the song with a more band-instrument-oriented arrangement and no long bridge in the middle.
Not only was it now easy to play live, but it was also much more accessible for more listeners, so decided to release it as a single. But it wasn't included on an album... Just the single compilation.

It comes like this on the DVD! I think that because it is old footage, not shot with the best cameras, also shot in darker places, that there's some noise. But I hope you can still enjoy it! The later PV's on the DVD have much less noise like that.
