Change the Weber carb out for a good shape factory carb and read up on ih8muds aisin carb write up on what piggy back vacuum operated systems to keep and delete on the carb. Webers are not meant for off-roading they are meant for a few more horsepower on the pavement, once you put them at incline you will always have running issues. The stock carb will run great with truck upside down if it’s setup properly.
Those older Toyotas are just about indestructible. Love those things!!

I’m team Jeep for sure, but whoever makes Toyota glass is the real hero. I see thousands of Toyota crawlers every year. Each one of them looks like a twisted up raisin, but the glass is always perfect - even the doors that barely close somehow have windows that still perfectly go up and down 😂😂
Their only Achilles heel is rust!

Why is there a block the tembren is mounted to? It’s seems it’s natural position judging from the OEM bump stop is without the block and to be mounted straight to the frame.

Because we already parked it because of the carb issues we had previously and I didn’t want to hold up the group all day. People literally drive up the Chute in reverse ✌️
That Weber carb is a POS..doesn’t matter if it’s old or new they just suck! This group looks like they’re all about having a good time..as usual Marvin another great video.
It's still a nice looking Toyota. But with a little time. It is going to look like a raisin. But the shittier looking Toyotas always kick ass in the rocks.

And I had a lifted '83 myself with crappy brakes - they are hard to get just right. And your carburetor, ya it's tough on steep inclines.

those toyotas are like that, they will die on steep terrain, run fine and die, its because of a few different fuel delivery design flaws, in my area, everybody immediately converted to propane. some folks rig up dual fuel.... they are destructible, in fact, they only have a 6 out of 10 rating on destruction resistance. they are the worst truggies for rock crawling, they are easily the best snow rigs ever created, ever.... they are highly capable trail rigs but dont ford rivers very well, they have mud capabilities but you need tall skinny tires
Throw that Webber in a trash can maybe try a early 70s Toyota carburetor like 3k everyone puts on samurai I have a Corolla carburetor on my samurai and I can stand it straight up or straight down with no problems if float levels adjusted properly
What are you going to do with the yota? I vote 4BT and dual xfer cases. Something like 200:1 ratio….
