It may have been played many times but I still think it's a beautiful song. It's just nice to play it. Especially after Sunday morning church... Cheers, Marcel
Just started learning the Banjo and learned this song recently. This is totally badass. It reminds me of my roots in appalacia, Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. Im on the west coast now but Appalacia will never leave me.
Hi Levi, thanks for your comment. Although I am Dutch I can imagine that it is impossible to erase the appalachians from your mind and memory. I have been there once and I must say that I also have unforgettable memories of it. I wish you a lot of success learning to play "the most beautiful instrument in the world". Cheers, Marcel
Greetings from Boulder Colorado Marcel, the home of the majestic Rocky Mountains and Ome Banjos where your excellent sounding banjo was born! I truly enjoy your smooth, faultless playing and love that blending of the two parts. You sure make it look easy. Thank you for a beautiful tune.
This is the Netherlands calling Boulder Colorado.... the home of the Rocky Mountains and majestic 😀Ome Banjos..... Hi Tina, thank you for your very nice comment. Good to hear from you again. Greetz from across the Atlantic. Marcel
Thank you for your comment. I live in the Netherlands (Europe). In 2013 and 2017 I visited family in Spartanburg SC and I have been in Boiling Springs a couple of times!! What a coincidence!
Also the Home of Earl Scruggs. I'm sure you know. I play some myself. Always played guitar, but banjo is coming easier than before now. I learn things from your video .Thank You!
WOW Marcel….it’s so good to see a new upload from you!!! Greetings from very hot and humid Florida, U.S.A. I really enjoyed this video as this is one of my most favorite old hymns. I appreciated you showing up close detailing of your finger movements….that’s very helpful. Thank you so much for this new video! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Sloan, thanks for your comment. Greetings from The Netherlands. Great to hear that you like the video. I have received more requests for this format (close up). It takes a little more time but I intend to do the same for the next videos. See you next time. Marcel
Hello Chantal, I would like to explain it to you, but that is a lot of work. Am sorry. I don't have a tab for it either. You will see the fingering for the second banjo in the right part of the screen. If it goes too fast you can also slow down the video. I hope you figure it out this way. Cheers, Marcel
@@Marcel-Arendsen we have an unspoken brotherhood cause I also have an Ome banjo I bought new back in the mid 70's and just love the sound. It just got better and better over the years. It is a juggernaut 1 with plenty of character wear but plays and sounds wonderful
Hi Jim, yes those Ome Banjos are really very well built and, if you set it up well, have a great sound. A friend of mine also has a Juggernaut (built in the 70's) and is still very happy with it. I once had contact with Tanya from Ome Banjos who could tell me that about 125 Columbines Banjos were built. And that includes the four-string banjos of the series. Cheers and have a nice day Jim!
Great to see you uploading some songs again Marcel. Perfect tune after getting out of church today.

That's a good one. I'll think about it. I have so much tunes in mind that I would like to play.
Great job man and I am really hoping you will give us a tune from time to time. You have become one of my favorite players here! BRAVO

What model ome banjo do you have?
I have an Ome Columbine I.Tanya Ogsbury told me: "I can tell you we have not made very many Columbine, less than 100 in 4 and 5 strings slyles".
