🇎🇧 This WL MU coaches ( Modernes Universelles ), constitute the definitive type of WL of CIWL design. They have done a great honour to their name, because in the different variants as many as 284 units were built from 1964 to 1968. The first units ordered by the CIWL, were characterised by the external measures of the UIC-X standard, which allowed to go from 11 to 12 fairly spacious compartments, all of the 'universal' type, for a capacity of 36 seats with a single ascent vestibule.
The beds were contained, ready-made, in a kind of tipper that fell within the thickness of the walls; for the upper bed of the T3 configuration, the mattress was going to rest partly on the luggage rack located above the window. The wall opposite that continent the beds was foldable, and allowed two compartments to be combined for better comfort.
The tubular type case, particularly cared for acoustic and vibration thermal insulation, the folding access doors type UIC-Mielich and the rubber tubulars for intercommunication; particulars applied for the first time on CIWL carriages. They also had the French L type, then the Minden-Deutz type trucks with stump brake. Incredibly, for the most part they were built without air conditioning.
The first units, had a modest external fairing, then removed to make them equal to the next ones who were devoid of it. Inside the head without doors there were, on the compartment side, a small Office, a WC and the heating boiler. On the corridor side, the usual chaise-longue of the conductor, the second WC and a wardrope.

I hope you’ll enjoy it. I am trying to make the channel also like an encyclopedia, with information about all the models and learn their history.

@@picattorewell the internet certainly needs one and you have made a good start. I discovered your account by accident. I was looking for XMPR videos. I don’t look for videos of Italian models / trains in Spanish so I was lucky to have found you.
Thinking of how you could reach a larger audience, may I suggest a formula that other, multinational TH-camrs use?Upload your videos in the languages of the viewers you hope to reach. I didn’t see the English translation until after I had watched your video. With international trains, upload separate one for the language of each country a train visits. You will be able to monitor the most popular languages and perhaps get requests for more of the same.
I wish you good luck with your very worthwhile project.
