I think the issue was that he sent them on suicide runs to your back line which meant you could more easily gun them down, though that also delayed/isolated some of your better units allowing him to consolidate on the middle and send crowmen to snipe the leftovers of the birb and the kitty.
Hi Turin, the pronunciation of the "dao" in "guandao" is not pronounced like "dough" but more akin to the English word "dow" or maybe "drow" without the R. The weapons that the eshin triads use (guandao) are attributed to the legendary Chinese general, GuanYu, of the Three Kingdoms period (also playable in TW: 3K)
Seems like he just yeeted those monsters into the meat grinder for not much gain at the beginning, feels like he should've waited for them to have crowmen support for the backline dive?
@@joshramirez2049They "fixed" it by adding an invisible number of melee defence to the units which they at a later point nerfed. The units with an active formation attack will still not attack with most of its models.
Give Plague Monks a "spreading" debuff passive. So the more units they fight at once the more value they give via their debuff. Would fit the Plague Censers at least. Maybe give the dual weapon variant a buff when near Censers to see them go whacko mode from the plague fumes?
Ok, hear me out. You run a similar build to what you have here in the match but, you cut the triads for more fire power and you protect the back line with, and stay with me now, throt with whip of domination, rally and creature killer AND just a bunch of skaven slave spears. So you have the big flying boys try to get on to your missile units, skavenslave spears with the +15 charge bonus from whip and you have creature killer activation to give more bonus vs large in a pinch and rally to keep the little shits in line. If they terror route just send in more skaven slaves. I am 100 percent certain that I have no idea what I’m talking about because I only play campaign but it sounds hilarious so fuck it :p
I think you're better off with Ikit on his smaller bike, 2 Warlocks with the mortis engine armour, all 3 of them only have Howling Warpgale. Considering the value the Cathay player will throw at your weapons teams, you don't need damaging spells to get value, you give your anti-air time to deal with the birds, which in turn allows your Globadiers to help with the infantry fight, which coupled with Ikit and his two interns should go well.
Im not so sure i agree about the doom wheel in this matchup. It makes him a much larger target which means the dragons and SEs will do much better against him. Dragon chars struggle to hit infantry SEs so having him on foot helps a lot there imo
I think, someone should test out, putting out quality units as a trap and then try to shred the crowmen or the monsters when they dive these quality troops.
Seems like the ROR crowmen are overturned, no offence to Hippo but he didn't play that great and still somehow managed to nuke everything with that unit
I think it's ok to give Cathay flying infantry but it should not hit like trucks and also have good combat stats. Its crazy. Crowmen must be like tomb king's birds, less models, less damage, less melee attack
I like having a flying infantry that is actually impactful. Harpies, fell bats, furies all are so underwhelming, it's nice to have one that's actually resilient
Statwise crowmen are more or less harpies with +8 MA, -6MD plus fear and 20% physical resist. I guess if they are the vegan version of daemonic the fear and physical resist makes sense, but then they'd need to have either higher cost (200gp premium now compared to harpies) or as pathetic leadership as chaos furies have. I'd rather just see them being more expensive since harpies and furies feel rather underwhelming to me.
Harpies should get Gorefeast by default to make them worth using, considering their lore as battlefield scavengers, eating corpses Furies need a unique skill like what the Tzaangors vs the Beastmen variant got with the bonus weapon strength from casting, right now they are so basic and you might as well use hounds or horsemen
big chonk lion: 5000 HP tiny birb: 7000 HP I like that crowmen crumble like daemons now but they shouldn't leave bodies in that case (neither should ancestral warriors, CA... come on)
@@hlb99They ate made from "pure Yin energy" so I don't think they are any more physical than daemons. That aside daemons should leave corpses, but they should be random piles of meat, bone, trash and soil as they construct a body for themselves when appearing in reality from local materials. In some instances you can actually have daemon skulls sticking around forever, so it's inconsistent.
You're spot on with slingers. Bring cheap crappy slingers and gutter runners. Anything too expensive and slow (like weapons teams) just get prioritized and slaughtered by flyers.
That's what the jazails are for. Gotta use the long range to weaken flyers so the guns can shred them at short range, and jazzails bassically never miss
I feel like taking the Iksha Triads and the Death runners is very very risky now as Skaven, know the playerbase isn't really used to it yet, but the new LH for Cathay, the Watcher has that ability that can reveal all stalked and unspottable units map wide for 50 seconds.
I think it's just so tough that stormvermin cost 3 times as much as clanrat spears... like you can cover so much more of the battlefield with clanrats for a small fraction of the cost.
And even better with slave slaves! Then, there's even more warp tokens for bigger guns! Very easy to see where skaven friendly fire math comes from. Yes-yes.
Elite/special units, leaders (unique heroes), and maybe some other stuff shouldn't have an option of "coming back." They were defeated, and gone for the battle. The regular fodder/normal units should be able to come back as many times since they could be considered simply reinforcements.
pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't the doom flayers be good in this matchup? They're pretty fast and heavily armored, they should kill crowmen easily and if you get the ROR one, you can get some nice armor sundering.and jump up to 114 armor when in melee combat.
Skaven flamethrowers are kinda meh at distance, it is compensated somewhat by the volume of warpfire but if you only have the one you need to stand close and fire down the line for it to be effective. Think of it as a breath attack and not as a weapon.
When the fuck did that spell become considered as "underrated"?? It is one of the most obnoxious spells ever since game 2. Low cost and kills everything no matter the armor except single entity units.
in campiang i keept ikkit on foot because i loved the flame thrower that much, but there AI dosn't spread units out as much so hitting a more narrow unit formation can actually melt them really well. in multiplayer you probably have to use him to flank and shot down the ranks of the frontline which is easier said than done...^^
I wonder if its worth bringing out Throt with a semi-monster mash because at worst you'll always have the dragon to fight, at best there might be some of cathay's new flying units. But as it is it just seems like Rats are a no go against Cathay
You know things are desperate when you start thinking about using stormvermin.
hahaha
I love the stormvermin. I use them with tretch all the time
Stormvermin with halberds are great for guarding back line stuff.
Hey, at least people don’t forget they exist unlike Bestigors.
60 leadership on 1000 gold unit lmao

"He's a rat." Well can't really argue with that logic lol.
I love how different the land battle meta is from the domination meta.
His flamethrower is definitely bugged.

The Dukes of Haggard
Watching that celestial lion charging into that wall of stank was pretty good
Remember back in the early days of warhammer 3 when you had to pay the Cathay tax and turn off formation attack? Yeah, you still do.
They fixed formation attack a while back. Is it bad again?
@@joshramirez2049They "fixed" it by adding an invisible number of melee defence to the units which they at a later point nerfed. The units with an active formation attack will still not attack with most of its models.
What would Stormvermin and Plague Monks need to see more play? Just cost decreases or something else?

the match is just a warm up for that sweet sweet post game analysis

Skaven has Zero Flying right? Have yet too see one ever.
Eshin triads are so good wish they did more against crowmen.

The lions can actually have some good use against the rats as a leadership bomb. Just don’t send him head first into the fire range a ratling gunners.
Ikit Claw's flamethrower does do well if you shoot it down a line of infantry, but otherwise he's better off on his wheel.
