NJ PBS covered allegations by FDA against shrimp company investigated by the Outlaw Ocean Project

A PBS station in New Jersey reported that the Food and Drug Administration refused three shrimp imports from Choice Canning company in India due to some of the shrimp being laden with antibiotics. The halted shipments came weeks after the company had adamantly denied that its shrimp exported to the US had antibiotics. After the FDA action, Choice Canning then told reporters that it had severed ties in September 2023 to specific plant cited by the FDA. But the Outlaw Ocean Project then subsequently surfaced internal documents showing extensive written exchanges between Choice Canning managers seeming to indicates ties to the plant long after September and ongoing shrimp shipments from the plant.
