Believe it or not, Indonesia has a lot of black magic and ghost culture, and many places have their own rules so that tourists can be safe without being disturbed by spirits. For example, when climbing mountains in Indonesia you must comply with climbing regulations. It is highly recommended not to be misled by the spirits in the mountains.
There are a lot of ghost folk tales in Indonesia, basically to keep children from going out at night... and the ghosts will differ depending on the culture and conditions of the place.
Ratu Kidul aka Nya'i Roro Kidul is very well known. And yes, wearing green is prohibited at that beach. BTW, be careful of Tuyul. You may lose your money if you encounter one 😂 Kuntilanak & Sundel Bolong tend to appear as beautiful women first. So... watch out!!! 😆
I Indonesia is truly rich in nature, even ghosts are diverse and have their own names and levels, not only is it rich in culture, art and language, customs, 😊
So far I know by logic, stories about ghosts in Indonesia are made and told by elders as teachings as humans must do good. Logically, how each ghost story depends on their respective areas in each region or main island or specific ethnic groups. Like the teachings of parents to their children who scare them if they do bad things there will be ghosts that haunt them so that their children follow what is expected in their good altitude. So those stories are mostly as folklore myths that are mystical compared to reality told passed down generation to generation to form good characters as humans. Most people in rural areas apply it compared to more modern cities, but that doesn't mean some of those kinds of ghosts don't exist, almost man or woman who have been seen by them are people with sensitive souls who can easily see mystical things. So don't worry Uncle if you want to visit Indonesia😅 even our ghosts are friendliest ghosts in the world and understand better which will do good to raise awareness of human behavior towards others😂
Just to tell you that I have been living in Indonesia since a kid, even my parent's home is literally few steps away from graveyard. Our house got open roof at the back when heading to the toilet, every single midnight all I see is 1. moon, 2. stars, 3. great looking sky. Then there is someone from our office trying to prank us by playing a girl's crying sound but then security guard is the one hearing it while doing his routine check then someone's friend claiming they can see ghost with red dress and aggressive then guess what? I have been in that office room till midnight alone, So.... Yeah. Most folklore in Indonesia I think is just told there for the purpose of reminding people to do things better rather than causing problems
Most ghost stories are just made to protect and enforce unwritten rules. For example, to stop kids from going out at night alone, people make up ghost encounter stories to scare them. I don't know if it is good for the children, but it is already part of our culture anyway.

In Indonesia with its culture and magical knowledge from ancient times Which still sticks with you today, believe it or not, you have to experience the horror of ghosts in Indonesia first. What is shown here is only a depiction of the figure and not the actual figure. If you want to feel the horror yourself, you have to come directly... do you dare to try, sir?😂 The ghost figures are very different from those abroad. Stay healthy n keep funny sir ❤️🇮🇩
In Indonesia, myths have traditionally been used to protect people or preserve nature, especially since Indigenous communities often find it challenging to grasp scientific explanations. For example: - Wearing green clothes on the South Coast of Java is discouraged because it’s believed you’ll be harder to spot if you drown or are swept away by a wave. - Pregnant women are advised to carry a pair of scissors or sharp objects to ward off the Kuntilanak (a ghost). This practice may also have practical reasoning-if childbirth occurs unexpectedly, like in a remote area or vehicle, the scissors can be used to cut the umbilical cord or perform minor procedures (ideally with medical assistance). - Screaming on sacred mountains is forbidden. Many Indonesian mountains and volcanoes are prone to landslides, and loud noises can create echoes that might trigger one, similar to how avalanches work in snowy regions. - and many more... These myths, and many others, blend cultural beliefs with practical safety measures, reflecting the deep connection between tradition, nature, and daily life in Indonesia.
FYI and some facts for you Uncle D, honestly Indonesia ghosts are more scariest than any Western ghosts including Americans ghosts. But, majority of Indonesians people are so brave and often making fun with those ghosts like a memes, pranks, trolls etc. Sometimes scary but funny too, little bit weird but that's the fact. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indonesia is a 'supernatural country' for people who have good hearts. On the other hand, if you have evil intentions, there will be a supernatural response🙏
Ada turis dari Eropa dia tidak percaya ada hantu saat dia berkunjung di Indonesia, malah dia ke ketakutan di sapa hantu, setan n dedemit di Indonesia 😂
As an Indonesian born in the 90s I can say that these myths belong to previous generation, most younger generation has starting to ignore this little by little. It was to scare kids in the first place, there are no real ghost but I must admit that these ghosts and stories are scary if it's real lol
exactly the capital is about to move, as an Indonesian christian, I don't ever see any local ghosts, the only thing happened beyond my understanding was one time when I was a little and I was scolded by my father because of my poor mark in my study to sleep alone in the office room in the 2nd floor suddenly as I was alone in that room the light switch was turned off and I was in the dark but I kept quiet and soon my eyes can see in the dark, and there was nothing. most ghost stories here are about big ogre like beast spirit that usually live on a tree, and the usual lady in white gown, and the bound corpse in muslim burial cloth, other type of ghost are also believed to be spirit who guard "sacred" places some mountain or cave or palace or forest, not sure if it can be considered scarier or not to another countries in the region
most of Indonesian moslem believe this spirit is Jinn, we believe died person cant comeback to haunt us, because Jinn already wrote on the Quran as holly book, and no ghost on it. Jinn is like human but on different dimension, Jinn can choose to become bad or good Jinn like human. Bad Jinn will imitate what is humans fear, then no wonder there is something called ghost every where on the world, the Jinn will imitate whats you fear in your head😁
Being a frequent visitor to Mainland Java I can assure you they believe it 100%, even I dare say to have had very unusual feelings whist there, but I would never tell them that lol.
in Indonesia you can feel and see ghosts through spiritual experts in Indonesia, they can open your inner eyes so you can see and interact with ghosts, or enter the ghost realm dimension, but this is very risky
The scariest ever occasion although there's no credible source or proof though but however its seem legit for common reason..,at least they given us the taught not to wandering around so late on the middle of night..so when related story emerge it's basically prevent you from having mischief or facing unfortunates things out side of your unfamiliar place, this might be only a fabrication of ghosts appearance in the world of Asia society or community..but if true only one individual could see it no others people got the similar change as you're even though we are with few friends at that moment. . 🙄🤔😄😂
Hey dude, those "ghosts" are real, but they mostly appear in forests or rural areas where it's still dark and surrounded by nature. In cities, ghosts are now being hunted and turned into TH-cam content, and it's true-no wonder there are so many mystery TH-camrs from Indonesia! 🤣 When I was a kid in the village, I had my first ghost encounter while walking down a rural road lined with bamboo trees. Out of nowhere, one of the bamboo trees bent down and blocked the path-no wind, no rain. Naturally, my friends and I ran for our lives. According to my parents, it was a genderuwo ghost. So, the world of ghosts has actually become a part of life for Indonesians. And of course, in Indonesia, there are also many people with the skills to communicate with or exorcise ghosts. So dont worry everything in ballance 😂
Pemahaman saya tentang hantu.
Hi Uncle D.. what makes sense outside the 5 senses. This is a little perspective from your Indonesian audience, I am "Initial D" :D. because at the beginning of the video you stated that you do not believe in what you do not see or what is not visible. Well, here I try to ask a question about the concept of real and unreal (with the standards of the human five senses). If it is only called real based on what we can see, then how can we be sure that the wifi signal in our house is having an error? which "wifi signal" is invisible to the eye, odorless, but we are sure that the signal exists. On the other hand, our ear's ability also has limitations. We are only able to hear a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The question is, does sound with vibrations of more than 20kHz exist? Of course there is, but we are unable to hear it due to the limitations of our hearing. Our five senses have limitations, but that does not mean that what is not detected by the five senses is unreasonable.
I think our ghost is mostly shared between south east asian nations, the flying woman head with her entrails is also similarly depicted in thailand, I think lady in white ghost is global folklore, jumping corpse is also pretty common like mummy, or chinese vampire, but here in Indonesia since the majority are muslims and they are buried in such way so the ghost is wearing that burial cloth, however these ghosts are the usual suspects pretty much folklore and cameoed just to prank people, when someone see one of those probably it's more likely a prank for tiktok content than a real ghost, probably real haunting situation just showing shadow person moving either black or white, or shown as a normal person but in unnatural setting or in unlikely environment perhaps they see old person walking alone in the middle of the forest without light, but when you look again the person suddenly disappear of jump location in impossible way like you already passed him few minutes ago but then you see him again in front of you messing up with your mind.
Me? No. But apparently people around me have claimed to. My cousin claims to be sensitive to spirits and he claims that our house has a resident ghost that's kind of territorial to people that don't live here (like how apparently we've had chauffeurs and maids who claim that they've seen sightings, but none of us in the family aside from my cousin ever see anything). My cousin's sister also claims to have heard laughing coming from the front yard one night, which then gradually got closer and eventually seemingly as though the laughter is coming directly from above the rooftop... all the while I heard jackshit on the day of that claim :v idk, my cousin's fam seems to be more in tune with this shit, "thanks to their mother's side" apparently :v
as a mostly muslim country, we dont actually call it ghost but djinn. in the Holy quran said. Allah The Almighty create not only us human, also create Angels and Djinn, and we created by Allah just to serve Him. we human created from the essence of the Earth, angel from the illuminated Ray of light, and Djinn from the Smokeless Fire. and entity like Demon or Ghost actually Djinn that can take any form. for the most best explanation of what the Djinn is, if u watch Harry Potter, when the werewolf teacher (i forgot his name) teach harry about monster that dont have any form but it can form based on what people fear about. like harry in this case he fear dementor, so it became dementor from that movie. Djinn also like that. if u watch some ghost exploration with technology , they used tools that can detect electromagnetic field , Djinn can be detected by that, because they somewhat like a blob of energy that have electromagnetic. if they strong enough they can form into what everyone think or fear. actually if u brave enough , 99% you'll not see or encounter them . but the slightess you're in fear . you'll become more and more fear , they will get stronger. Djinn also like us. they have a good deeds but also the bads too. the good ones rarely show their form. mostly that everyone encounter is the bad ones. that swear to Allah until the Day of The Judgment to make us human stray further from Allah The Almighty and fear them instead of Allah. May Allah always protect us from the evil of the djinn and the human.
Wewe gombel is originated from my town ,Semarang central java ,there's hill called gombel hill legend say Wewe gombel still hanging around in the trees every night in bukit gombel, sometimes they scared by passers or motorist ,when i was kid mom said if you kid playing outside all night long Wewe gombel Will kidnap you ,and was i just scared the hell out

Try to watch the Indonesia horror movie called Murni : the story of wewe gombel. You might know some of our beautiful ghosts😂 well now our ghosts did not have pride anymore because we haunted them for content and made fun of them.. well, there's a lot of content make fun of them, but there's also content for just communicating with them to know their existence
Ratu kidul ( the queen of southern sea), is not considerghost, She is the lord who rules all entities from southern sea. Ratu means Queen, kidul means southern. Her folklore is closely related to royal family of Yogyakarta. And why forbidden to wear certain green color, logically speaking, the sea water look greenish blue, if something happen like drowning, the victim will hard to find if wear green in greenish blue sea. that beach might be calm at sea surface buth underneath is different story fyi, ratu kidul is picky, she wont take person with bad quality kuntilanak story is exagerated. at most she will only show up and tease you. and laugh if she able to scare you. funfact she like men. sharp object is for pregnant women. its not necessary knife, it can be needle, bross, cutter, small scissor, nail clipper, anything with sharp edges. kutilanak classes, common one is white, other color is dangerous its not pokong, its pocong, pronounce "c" like in vitamin c
You can see real ghosts on the Beda Alam official channel, on this channel they explore looking for ghosts that often disturb humans, prove it yourself
To many miss information😂😂😂, but it's ok. Literally, ghost can't harm you. But black magic did, some of black magic practician will use dark power of these ghost. In Indonesia it's common to harm and kills without any touch, they practicing black magic called "santet". And till this day, some people still practicing this black magic secretly.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 if you notice, those are from central Java. They adopt a "funny" belief in Islam. Better yet, we can't call them actual Muslims cos they believe in Kejawen where Islam is adopted into their culture instead of the Islamic culture straightening out their cultural belief, hence believing in those stuff. Islam doesn't believe in wandering ghosts and spirits. They are classified as qarins and jinns trying to resemble deceased humans to shaken our belief and trust in the Almighty God. Jinns and qarins are other beings that God made from smokeless fire. and qarins do look like us as they were born when we were born and they stay with us and try to lead us astray. That's why they know so much about us and when we die they try to replace us as our ghosts. Jinns come in all forms and sizes and can look ridiculously weird.
The video you watched is very weird, it pretty much has all the basic Indonesian folklore creatures on the list but the description and explanation is far from informative or descriptive, it feels like a mess that some generative AI mashed up. I personally haven't experienced any supernatural events in my life probably because my eye condition (aka can't see sh- most of the time at night) but in some places in Indonesia they do place certain rules to adhere to supernatural and yeah they exist like the prohibition of wearing green on the southern sea of Java. Also... That's a first to me. Pocongs has colonies? And the leader of Pocong colony is clad in red? Careful or soon they'll start revolution!
When the law of the court does not side with you, and it is very unfair, then these creatures can be used as a solution for revenge... certainly at the risk of a great sin to God that you will end up with
Actually, lots of the information in this video are defenietly wrong or mistaken. Such as "pocong" ghost, you called it as "pho-chong". Maybe the one who read the naration is an AI, so hebjust read as what is written, without knowing the exactly what hebwas reading in the scenario. Ok, pocong it self was not the ghost of everyone whom died in his 40 days on earth. Pocong are knowing came for a reason. Wether hebcame for revenge to his killer. Or came because he needs help to human, such as opening the ties that tied him up. Because, as a moslem. That will cover with a Kaffan Fabric (read: kha-in khaf-fan), and being tied above the head, the neck, the arm are put together in front of the stomach of the died person, and being tied in the hips. And the knees and bellow of the leg.. The ties have to be oppen when the corpes are ready to get burried in their grave. We believe the soul are release from their upper head. That's why if we forget to release it, then the ghost will come at night or in he dream of the family to ask for help so they can go to the grave, dig it again and release the ties.. Or the second one is they came to revenge for their murder. And disturbing them to died. Sometimes they also stay near the crime scene where they found dead, especially the place that their blood is not being clean clearly. For a black magic. Usually at some date that are being believing in a Middle Java and East Java for anblack magic or mystical date, the black magic paranormal looking for a new grave or abgrave that died in a special date that they needed. They toolbthe part of the kaffan fabrics of the dead person, and use itbfor their own purpose, such as makes them be8ng protected from everything, asking the pochong to disturbing some people that they one to be dead, or anything else.. Then the "Tuyul";(read as "Too-yool" are believe of the unwanted baby are thrown away by their parent. And their soul are being catch by a demon and being push to obbey the demon. Their soul is sell to a person who want to get rich. And for the trade is theperson need to pay or do something for the Tuyul and for the demon. For the tuyul, the owner of the tuyul need to taking care them by keep them milking to their wife in a special room that no body can't enter. The woman will get skinner day by day, and died. They can also can drink by the glass or baby bottle that are pour of milk inside it. Usually this is for a tuyul that are catch by a paranormal and they taking care of itblike an animal. They are telease at home or being place in an empty room that no body can disturb them. But we can hear the sound of them laughing or playing with anything in that room.. The tuyul is often being ask to stole money. As they know that their soul are neglected by their own parent, so they will loyalty obey the person that taking care them good. Some of tuyul are walking around an area of a people houses, but most of them are needed to bring by the owner around the people houses. They take it in their shoulder. The tuyul will sitting on it. Or being hold in the back of the owner. People catching or avoiding their attack by distracting their attention. Just like a kids, they like to watch fish and crab. We usually use it in the way that can be easy to see by everyone specially tuyul when they enter the house. Also to protect the money we keep the money by tied it with a rubber ties.. And for a pregnat woman who one to protect them from a kuntilanak or sundel bolong are usually tookba small scizzor and neddle or something sharp beneath the pillow near the baby and the mother sleep. And alway taking it and hiding it in their bra when they need to get outside the house at night.. For a citizen. If they know a woman died when while they pregnant. Then ib teir grave, usually they put a wooven tools complete with all the fabric they need. But the hole in the needle are being broke so the ghost can't finish the wooven that they want to make for their baby. This is still going on specially in the Sulawesi. They believe the ghost will alway stay in their grave and will not disturbing rhe citizen or another woman or pregnant woman.. And so many more.. If you need to prive it. You cant ask any ghost around you to come to you. This are keep held by the elder and teach to their kids as a game to call a spirit that stay in that room. We called it "Jalangkung" (read as "Jha-Lhang-Khung") We sometimes use a doll or a drawing tools that we use to draw a circle. In Indonesia we named it as a "Jangka". But didn't know what the name of that tools in English 😅. Then we said the spell, "Jalangkung, Jalangkung, di sini ada pesta, pestanya kecil-kecilan, datang tak diundang, pulang tak diantar".. read it repeatedly till something happen to the doll or the drawing tools.. maybe in western we know they use an Ouja Board to call a spirit. The meaning of the spelled are, "Jalangkung, jalangkung, at here we had a party, a small party. You came in without being ask, and you go home without need to be bring home by us". If we not saying it, then they will came thingking that they being ask to come to that place. We will say that this Place are held a party, si they know that will a lot of laughing sound or yelled. They will know also that maybe the ghost will be played by them. So the ghost cannot mad at them. And the last one is they said that the ghost can ask them to get to the their grave. Coz sometimes, some ghost will follow to the kids house, just because they need to go back to the place of their grave by the kids that called him to the place that place thet played "Jalangkung". Tried it. Amd see if you still can laugh or not.. 😊😊😊
There are a lot of misinformation in that video, it felt ridiculous to watch it lmao.. Better find a video from the native to ensure that you get the correct info

Tuyul is the strongest ghost according to our beliefs. The logical reason is because this type of ghost can hold an Object.
Sorry. PRET is Thai ghost. Pret is not known in Indonesia. As an Indonesian, I have never known this ghost.
Being a frequent visitor to Mainland Java I can assure you they believe it 100%, even I dare say to have had very unusual feelings whist there, but I would never tell them that lol.
Please react to" papi grenier " du joueur du grenier
in Indonesia you can feel and see ghosts through spiritual experts in Indonesia, they can open your inner eyes so you can see and interact with ghosts, or enter the ghost realm dimension, but this is very risky
I'm an Indonesian but I've never heard these ghosts' back stories before 😅
The scariest ever occasion although there's no credible source or proof though but however its seem legit for common reason..,at least they given us the taught not to wandering around so late on the middle of night..so when related story emerge it's basically prevent you from having mischief or facing unfortunates things out side of your unfamiliar place, this might be only a fabrication of ghosts appearance in the world of Asia society or community..but if true only one individual could see it no others people got the similar change as you're even though we are with few friends at that moment. .
Hantu itu makhluk halus,.. Ketika dia menjelma/mewujud padat, (seperti kuntilanak atau pocong) itu berarti dia sdh menjadi makhluk kasar seperti manusia, dan bisa dipukul 😅
Uncle D, Wewe Gombel is a Local Javanese Ghost that doesn't exist anywhere else.
This doesn't represent the majority of Indonesians, in fact only a small part who believe in mystical things.
Hallo i am from indonesia, nice to meet you sir
20:30 no worries, none of those spirits will come to you since the guy didn't pronounce any names correctly. So, you're safe! 😂
I'm Indonesian, and I don't believe in ghost like kuntilanak, tuyul...etc
In some village or remote areas of Indonesia, witchcraft is still practiced, inherited from ancient knowledge from ancestors
its ok D..if you see indonesian ghost you just say"hi..how are you today" that all 😂😂
It's just a folk tale or a myth, not a real thing. Until now, thank God, I haven't found those types of ghosts. 🙏
Me?
Hantu Indonesia keren keren kan. Salam dari Jawa Tengah 👍👍👍
Thats only few of indonesian ghost there is so many that not mention on that video
I know Chucky a lot bro 🤣🤣
Funfact:
Us: u belive ghost ? No. U belive ufo ? Yes
Ina : u belive ghost ? Yes. U belive ufo ? No.
Chucky is a doll
But Tuyul is baby spirit with dark soul....
Why the heck did the video said "Poe-Kong", it supposed to be pronounced "Po-Chong". Hearing Poe-Kong made it so much less scary, lol
I 😆your funny reactions.
You should try the thai ghosts..some are terrifiying, like the thai dancer ghost
as a mostly muslim country, we dont actually call it ghost but djinn. in the Holy quran said.

Hantu seharusnya tak kasat mata,, tak perlu takut atau panik,, karena begitu dia menampakkan wujud, maka hukum kasat mata jg berlaku untuknya,, segera lemparkan benda apapun yg bisa diraih sampai mengenainya,, hantu itu jg akan merasakan kesakitan..
Real funny Fonzy 😂
I'm Indonesian.. But I don't believe in ghosts until I see them in person😂

Well i seen ghosts everyday when im on my way to work in indonesia😂
Ratu kidul ( the queen of southern sea), is not considerghost, She is the lord who rules all entities from southern sea. Ratu means Queen, kidul means southern. Her folklore is closely related to royal family of Yogyakarta. And why forbidden to wear certain green color, logically speaking, the sea water look greenish blue, if something happen like drowning, the victim will hard to find if wear green in greenish blue sea. that beach might be calm at sea surface buth underneath is different story
fyi, ratu kidul is picky, she wont take person with bad quality
kuntilanak story is exagerated. at most she will only show up and tease you. and laugh if she able to scare you. funfact she like men. sharp object is for pregnant women. its not necessary knife, it can be needle, bross, cutter, small scissor, nail clipper, anything with sharp edges. kutilanak classes, common one is white, other color is dangerous
its not pokong, its pocong, pronounce "c" like in vitamin c
You can see real ghosts on the Beda Alam official channel, on this channel they explore looking for ghosts that often disturb humans, prove it yourself
That was hilarious😂

All these ghosts must come from a very distant past, because in Islam there are no ghosts.
❤❤❤
To many miss information😂😂😂, but it's ok. Literally, ghost can't harm you. But black magic did, some of black magic practician will use dark power of these ghost. In Indonesia it's common to harm and kills without any touch, they practicing black magic called "santet". And till this day, some people still practicing this black magic secretly.
coba reaksion chanel ki suryo bro
of course all those ghost is just a story for kids, so they behave well, and not do bad things
Uncle D looks like doesn't believe in ghosts huh??😅
Nex reaction indonesia hell march
Kuntilanak put a nail Not at neck but on the head 🗿
Popcorn uppps pocong 🤦♂️
Kopi mana kopi
Ghosts exist
Hantu kepala terbang known as Kuyang.
Hantu hanya dongeng. Masalah dukun hanya tipuan mencari keuntungan, hanya bagi yg percaya mistis ( kebodohan ).
👍🏻❤☕
Apakah anda sudah mengulas tentang santet di indonesia
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
Coba nonton live strimming info explor ke hutan kamu akan tau pocong sama kunti kanak dedel bolong
We called it "Jalangkung" (read as "Jha-Lhang-Khung")
We sometimes use a doll or a drawing tools that we use to draw a circle.
100% innacurate
There are a lot of misinformation in that video, it felt ridiculous to watch it lmao..
Better find a video from the native to ensure that you get the correct info
