Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs often didn’t save enough during their working years. Retirement planning plays a significant role in shaping outcomes. For example, both of my parents spent the same number of years in civil service, but while my mom invested through a wealth manager, my dad relied solely on his 401(k). The difference in their financial stability is clear.
This is so true. I’m in my mid-50s now, and my wife and I were on the same path for years. Two years ago, I decided to pull my money out and invest with her wealth manager. While I haven’t fully caught up to her profits over the years, I’m definitely earning more now. I’m making money even before retiring, and my retirement fund has grown far more than it would have if I had stuck with just the 401(k). Haha!
Absolutely true-access to the right information is not something everyone has, and a lack of knowledge often leads to panic. It’s incredible that you’ve managed to make over $287K passively by working with an advisor! A skilled wealth manager can make a huge difference, no matter the state of the economy. Keep it up! 💪
I think this is something I should do, but I've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same.
Some firms can be unscrupulous, prioritizing their own commissions over your profitability. That’s why I prefer working with individual investors like Rebecca Lynne Buie, who only take a share of your profits, not your initial capital. I have to say, my experience with her has been nothing short of exceptional so far.
FEHB health insurance plans increased nearly $100 per month for basic option BCBS - AND - it reqires a 15 percent copay for labs now - so you pay nearly $600 a month for your health insurance, plus now a lab copay and not only that, your specialist copays are now $50 per visit - copays for doctors visits are now $40 per visit - all while you're paying nearly $600 per month for your insurance - How do I know that? Retired - but I also have Medicare A & B - that changed from $170 per month out of my SSA monthly check and increased for 2025 to $185 per month - and - lost quite a bit during the covid plandemic fiasco - the only thing that really didn't change was cost of meds when needed.
@ I found it. It was so small. I couldn’t even realize it in my pay. It was a whole four dollars more per pay. Period. Lowest I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’ve been in the federal government for 34 years. 🤐
@joanneroman4124 we didn't get a check with it yet. I think you're seeing some tax change for 2025 with the 4 bucks. I hear you, though, I think it started at 7.3 % and wound up 2.0 averaged

Thanks a lot for this recommendation. I just looked her website up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.

We got all the increases for the insurances though
Federal employees did not get a pay raise in 2025 yet unless it’s coming this week they froze our salaries in January. We never got the pay raise.
Check HRC you should see it
