    Another bit of useful info: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser cleaning pads will remove ink from your hands, or pretty much anywhere else it may end up.

    Hi Liron, I believe with these small euro cartridges, you place the spare cartridge backwards in the handle i.e. back to back. this holds the cartridge in place.

      Hmm, I actually tried placing them back to back, but there wasn't enough space (:

      Liron Yanconsky you have put the second one in the other way round, so the flat parts touch :-)
      It was fun watching you with your apparently first fountain pen! I'm so used to them I'd never have thought it wasn't completely self explanatory. :-) enjoy your pen. :-)

    Congrats on 4k! That's amazing you are off and running. I bought an inexpensive pen set and it's ok but I feel like they are quite slippery. I am buying Micron set next time ;-) UPDATE on Monte Marte Paints- Unless you want to use straight from the tube, ditch them. I dont like the way they re-wet and I added glycerin and no difference. Too much vibrancy is lost, excepting the red, violet and Prussian Blue it turns out, not Pthalo. I am learning. I am going over to working from tubes . I am really looking at water to pigment ratio. I want transparency. I will love the Shin Han's I am getting in a couple weeks and the 30 colors will be great. Sorry for bringing the news that they change when they harden...so it is with cheap paint, but I found something beautiful in it. I love paint straight out of the tube. I drew up the tree sketches last night. I just started mechanical pencil for the finest line .07 Papermate...I cannot sketch in pen! I will begin outlining my pencil lines soon as a beginning of getting used to the sizes. TC Liron, and great sketching as always!

    I recycle the body and install the nib in a Metro. I wish it was wetter, but I dig it.

    I just bough this pen from a back to school sale. It was 5 to 6 dollars and its definitely worth it. I'll try converting it into an eyedropper pen to make it even more worth it.

    I remember now, I meant to ask you. Do you know that you can paint with coffie? I haven´t tried yet, but I would love to see a video where you try it:) Would you?

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to say we are well-synched! I actually have in my ideas list a "Painting with coffee" and also "Painting with tea / tea bags" videos :D
      So I honestly don't know when that will happen, but it probably will at some point.
      By the way, I checked and the tubes still weren't received back home in Israel. Did you get a notification? It's really weird. I hope they weren't lost O:

      No, no notification yet. I will have a look at it.

    I found your review of the Plumix pen, as I am looking to buy one soon.
    If the cartridges are short 'international' size, then you can easily fit an 'international converter' to use bottled ink for fountain pens. Then you have thousands of colours to choose from, as long as they are made for fountain pens (not india ink though!).
    Also black cartridges are cheap to buy to fit this pen.
    Most of these inks are water-based, so you can easily wash out the pen.
    Thanks for your interesting and helpful review.
    (If of interest; search ' Schmidt universal fountain pen ink converter ' )

      Oh that's great advice! (:
      Once I'm back to focusing on fountain pens I'll do just that. And will probably get a better one too (;

    You will want to get some waterproof fountain pen friendly inks so you can watercolor over it. What you got is not waterproof. Also the Plumix makes a great eye dropper pen meaning you just fill the whole body with ink and not use a cartridge or a converter. Get some silicone grease to put on the threads to prevent any leaking. 😊 Enjoy

      winelover215 Yes, that's good, but the backside is that it could destroy your pen. It's harder to clean etc. I haven't tried waterproof ink yet, but check out the goulet pen company here on YT for more info;)

      I wouldn't sweat putting a waterproof or pigment ink in a $5. pen. I use Platinum Carbon Black Ink in many Lamy pens with no trouble. I wouldn't hesitate putting a waterproof ink in anything but a vintage pen. I'm very experienced with all things fountain pens and ink.

      I use Platinum Carbon Black ink in all my pens and have no troubles at all!

    The ink is very not waterproof, Beware of the rain!
    If you buy waterproof ink (esp in bottle) be careful and make sure it says for fountain pen, not dip pens.
    This type of nib is called a stub nib, good for calligraphy and offers line variation depending on how you hold it.
    Other pens come with a "regular" nib that doesn't offer much line variation, and come in various width (fine, medium, broad).
    Be careful to not press too much on the nib or you might bent it. This is steel so it should hold a minimum amount of pressure but fountain pen don't need much to write, draw etc...
    BTW: the cartridges has a blue end, to tell you it's blue ink, red if it red and so on..
    PS: Congrats on the 4k!
