More in His Name

Join us for worship on Sabbath, August 8 at 10:30 AM. This will be Pastor Ashok's last Sabbath with us before he leaves for seminary. Here's a word from him:
Have you ever had one of those moments where you think to yourself, "Why didn't that click with me earlier?"
Well, this was one of those times.
Before moving to the Pacific Northwest over 6 years ago, the youth director in Massachusetts told me, "You need to go meet Pastor George Gainer! He changed my life when I was in college when he shared the gospel to me!"
A few months later, I walk into a church called Pleasant Valley SDA Church. It was a Sunday evening during a young adult evangelistic series. Out of the crowd of people in the foyer, a jovial gentleman darted out to me. He extended his hand and said, "Hi! My name is George!" I remember my thought being, "Oh wow, what a nice man!" Over the course of the week, this George would come up to me every day welcoming me for the meetings. It didn't occur to me until later in the week that this was Pastor George, senior pastor of PVC. Not only that, this was Pastor George Gainer, the same man my youth director told me about several months prior!
This "George" had more to his name than I realized upon meeting him.
This Sabbath, we will look at the story of when Moses met God on top of Mount Sinai where God would proclaim His name over him. Moses learned that there was more in His Name, the Name that is above all names.
My prayer is that we experience His glory, fullness, and rest in Jesus name!
