So glad they released what essentially is a lesser Chaos God after so long, I love seeing these minor aspects of Chaos having a face and plans of their own beneath the shadow of the big 4. Another one alongside Hashut, Malice, AOS Archaon etc...

You can really tell when the narrative has been writen by a Black Library author or adapted from a Forge World book vs the in-house Game Workshop team, I remember some of thoe 7th Edition Warzone background books being absolute oof city.

Honestly, I wish Oculus had more creative control over some of these narratives. I sense they'd be far more interesting than what GW gives us. I, and a huge number of others, dont even care about the tabletop. I just want good lore given to me.

I am still not convinced Vashtor is sufficiently separate from the Four to be his own elemental being of Chaos. Most of his ideals seem to be just Tzeentch but through a Mechanicus lens. Abit of Slaanesh too.

Excellent work as usual! Feeling s bit jaded with GW's string of existential threats to humanity, though. The day to day horror of the Imperium is more my jam, all this galactic-scale adversity kind of casts mankind as beleaguered heroes, which is a bit iffy!

I’m starting to not like the way 40K lore is being carried out, they are skipping and skipping and jumping from a VERY IMPORTANT THING to another…
I love 40K and I love that important things are kept being, important, now they just always have something greater, something bigger one after the other in the span of , what? 3 years? A blink of an eye in 40K standards.

I remember our noble chronicler as he was. Passionate, certain, energetic, and ignorant. I adore the immersion and the soft world building that is his evolving worldview. And yet I cannot help but feel sorry for this lonesome soul, grief for the man he was, and concern for him for how much he has yet to learn.
The poor man cannot even muster up the anti-Xenos vitriol that is proper of an Imperial citizen when discussing the Eldar. Surely, The Work wears on him.
His work and weariness matters not so long as humanity is at war with a hostile galaxy that would devour his sons just as quickly as it would deliver them from violence. So long as the xeno, the heretic, the traitor, and the Primordial Annihilator are out there we cannot rest because resting would see us destroyed. Ave Imperator, Ave Populari, Ave Legionari

It's mad that the big bad has no novels even considering Guilliman, the 10K distance between the BL books and Indomitious isn't enough coverage.
I haven't read any of the Primarxh books but I liked the series starting with the Talon of Horus.

I like the lore around Abaddon's method for winning. He's seen people attempt to conquor the galaxy in two ways, the great crusade a slow grind and conquest of territory, and the reverse in the heresy when Horus attempted to upscale his spear head tactic to a galatic scale and rush for terra. It seems he thinks the first method worked better, so is now attempting to reverse engineer it. He is well placed to do so, with the path of time in the Eye meaning that many more Traitors are alive from that time and saw the great crusade work, than in the Imperium, who are now void of most of the great heroes of that time. In 1st captains alone, the traitors have three I can think of; Abaddon, Kharn and Ahriman, the Imperium has.....none?
Typhus too, and Lucius, though the latter is not a first captain.

I've only heard of abbadon as a joke/fail character. its fascinating hearing him become basically Archaeon in the eyes of our chronicler. Maybe other parts of the lore that are not taken very seriously could be made scary/relevant/relateable by our chronicler? Awesome video as always

I know that Occulus wouldn't talk much, if at all, but it'd be great to hear how you envision that. Your scripts are great and i think you'd do some incredible stuff with that reunion, just like you did with the interview with Guilliman or the talk with the Inquisition.

There are those who say that the nucleus of the 3 Chaos Gods were created when the Necrontyr entered the Bioforges (though the Necrontyr didn't have pyskers, they did have souls and who knows how many trillions if not quintillions may have existed in their home system at end of first war with Old Ones and marched into the forges). Since the 3 so completely match the nature of the Necrontyr, Khrone their war mongering, their bloodthirst, yet honorable marshal spirit. Nurgle and their life times of pain and disease that was fundamental to their race. Finally Tzeentch who's schemes, changing of ways and intense desire to change beings fates was what drove the Necrontyr and their dynasties. Until now I did not hold much into that notion, but then came Vashtorr. A being who so incapsulates the Necrontyr mastery of technology into arcane science (even Vashtorr avatars head is Necron like). Well the possibly now starts to make more and more sense. Making the Necrontyr literally responsible for everything that has happened in the last 60 million years.
