Yeah these things work great. I’ve used them many times myself and I’m never disappointed. Anything that can help the rider get more information as to how the bike is performing is good 👍🏼
Extremely well done BJ - the video is clear and clean, the pacing is spot on - excellent resource for someone that is looking at installing one of this gauges. Oh yeah, LOVE your shirt choice today!!! :)
Another great install tutorial! I was just looking at the trail tech products last night. Been tossing around the idea of a cross kart build with trail tech cluster and a x21 system.
Many years ago i was with my boss who was talking to an engineer from Suzuki, who was in NZ for the 85 GSX-R 750 debut in production racing, and he asked why it didn't have an oil temp gauge like the earlier GSX series bikes had, especially since the marketing dept was making such a big deal out of it being oil cooled. The engineer said something like (and i'm paraphrasing here) "if the average rider could see how much fluctuation, or difference in temperature the oil went through on an average ride, they might get alarmed and think something is wrong". :-))
I feel that. The KLR650 temp gauge is the same. There is a lot of misinformation with it thought from people so I want to know exactly what my bike is doing.
That is correct, a thermometer is actually just measuring the the speed of the molecules. You must have been awake when you took Physics in school, congratulations.
Excellent video, I have some doubts and I'm not in the US, I'm in another country, at night they have their own light, they don't have or have to be connected to some electrical signal, could you provide me with the link where they can be purchased, thanks.
Since 1987 (!) KLR650: i would not have drilled and introduce potential cockpit leaks..but sanded grit 80 rough the outer cases, acetone it briefly, and use 5 min Epoxy display on top……much quicker as well (like: 6 min total time) nice job otherwise.
Greetings, As always another brilliant detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 What do you do when the battery of the digital gauge runs out. Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the KLR How many miles on the KLR?
All one needs is the radiator cap with the temperature guage needle $18, I have one, no need to go through all this if you have motocross bike it's easily readable, streetbike sometimes there hidden...

Yup a tried and true part for sure

Thank you! I worked a lot on pacing so it wouldn't need music or feel too slow. Becoming a popular shirt! 😎
@@BrickHouseBuilds Killing lately buddy!!
Stoked to see you take this bad boy on the trails!
Have you seen my last 2 years Palooza videos yet? Im prepping for that ride later this month. Going to be so fun! Bringing the drone for cool shots.
@@BrickHouseBuilds I don't think so. I'll check them out!

That would be a super simple setup if you want a street legal type setup with signals and what not.
Very clear and concise instructions and importantly for us, an enjoyable video! Keep up the great work, dude! 🍻🤘💜
Thanks Andy!
once again, not something i need to know but very interesting, rob
🤘
Great little bit of kit! Many thanks
Many thanks Mike!

Excellent work, it helps me to do the same on my motorcycle, which is a 1991 Tengai. Thank you very much.
Thanks!
you done a great job mate. very neat and tidy. interesting to watch. How long does the battery last in the display.?
Thanks Gary! These batteries last a couple years minimum. Easy change when they eventually die though
Nice little thermometer. 👍
Its actually a speedometer...but for atoms!

Nice content, at 20:57 where did you get the connection, is it orginal they have a spare for the water temp?
Thats part of the kit
Great video. Thanks.
🤘🤘

Thank you. All parts are always linked in the description. These are completely stand alone and have their own battery power.
Excellent Excellent Video - Thanks Man❗️
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video! I would like to install one on my '99 Suzuki Bandit 1200 but it's not in the fit list.
You could do an oil temp for sure
Does this 22mm work on the Gen 2 KLR also.
I would assume it is the same but you could call Trailtech to be sure

Limpio y fácil. Gracias!
That it is! Very welcome

How many miles on the KLR?
Glad you enjoyed. The newer gauges may have a removable battery but I think it may require changing the whole gauge portion
How do u adjust max temp? Mine doesn’t let me
I don't think you do. It simply records and then shows max temp reached when not in use I think
Ok 👌👍
I prefer numbers over a needle gauge
Same
What happens when the battery dies?
Just pop a new one in. Like a key fob battery
@@BrickHouseBuilds Okay. Good to know that. Thank you.

Definitely can't see the cap when riding.
