I’ll have to look next time I’m at a shop, I lost it at the islands recently. It was 60g with two 1-0 assist hooks. Worked great.

Most likely a hitchhiker Ling. They love to clamp onto those smaller rockfish and ride the way up.

@@honeyhole had em bite dines almost to the surface after bringing up bait from the bottom so I wouldn't be surprised.

What size is that jig and what hooks did you replace them with?
It’s a 60g jig and I replaced the hooks with 2-0 gamakatsu assists. These particular hooks had a sabiki-like flash of fish skin on each hook.
those are perfect "Steamer Size"! ask momma!! she'll school ya for releasing "Steamer Sized" rockfish!

20lb 8-strand braid with 15lb seaguar Fluro.
I don't see to many people slow pitch jigging here in San Diego I bought some octopus jigs that I've been wanting to try when I go down south haven't had the chance

Around how deep were you fishing? what set up did you have reel and rod
