This series was more or less doomed _from the start._ Years ago, Rossi Morreale revealed in an interview that _Temptation: The New Sale of the Century_ had to record its 170-episode first and only season in 28 taping days. This was done in order to beat the then-impending Writers' Guild of America strike, and members of the Writers' Guild of America- West picketed the production of the show during a taping session. At one stage in this show's production, they recorded 13 episodes per session. This was also the lowest-rated daily strip in syndication, averaging a 0.5 rating in the Nielsens. Moreover, this series varied wildly in broadcast order, with episodes varying by station, depending upon whether it was a station airing the show in a single-run or double run. This episode was from the first taping session, yet it didn't air until March 3-7, 2008, and the show aired two tournaments in November sweeps, _despite them featuring two contestants whose original appearances had yet to air at the time of broadcast._ One contestant's original appearance aired as the Thursday episode of the final week of the original run, and the last episode to air in first-run was also the last episode to air during summer reruns in September of 2008. That last episode featured the champion deciding to return on the next show for another shot at the bonus round, but the show was not officially canceled until July of 2008, two months after the episode aired.
