I was looking everywhere for an easy burp cloth tutorial, and I have to say that I'm "SEW" (😉) glad that I bumped into this one😊! Even though it's been awhile since you posted this video, I just want to say that I'm S❤ glad that you made this video. THANK Y💙U😃!
Hi i am starting sewing for the first time. As I am a nanny for the first time. I didn't get the measurements for this project. For the terry towing. Did you say Kmart? I am in QLD Australia. I might go to spotlight and get the fat quarters you brought
congrats on being a nanny :) I cut the spotlight fat quarters in half, then used that to measure the size for the Terry toweling. They were $2 from Kmart if that helps? Was able to do 4 burp cloths with one towel. Have fun :)
iwonabr great question, yes. Avoids you having to turn inside/out and also avoids sewing each edge twice. I’ve done both versions. Looks super cute with a contrasting thread. Would love to see your finished project if you give it a go 👍
I’m a total beginner. I started to do machine embroidery and I want to sew and personalize baby items. I don’t have serger yet but it might be useful. Thank for quick reply. What machine do you have?
iwonabr I only have a cheap serger and class myself as a total beginner too, we’ve all got to start somewhere! I practice on recycled fabrics before moving onto brand new ones as I make lots of mistakes. As long as you’re enjoying it, that’s all that matters. I’d love an embroidery machine but way out of my price league I’m afraid
I suggest always pre washing fabric but especially when making burp cloths. Cotton flannel shrinks a lot and cotton fabrics shrink , but not the same percentage as flannel and new terry cloth. When the finish product is washed by the new mom , the burp cloth is going shrink and become distorted .Such a disappointment after all that work.
Great video!
Nice and simple I love it. Im going to make some today for my coming grandchild!
Congratulations!
Thank you...I'm making these with my twin daughters..I love your video.
Thank you, I'm sure you'll have fun together

Love this video 😍 where did you buy the terry cloth? Does spotlight sell it?
Alana Katelyn it was a cheap towel from Kmart! $2! Definitely need to get a thinner, cheaper end one so avoid too much bulk
can this project be done with serger?
