Certainly true about the Godins. Equally true of the Seagull acoustic guitars, which are also made by Godin. Top-notch quality.

@@wackenthaljef You can find videos here on TH-cam of Robert Godin himself taking you on a tour of his factories in Quebec.
The guitars are made in Canada, out of Canadian wood. Godin bought the forests.
The cedar tops on many of the Seagulls? Made of trees that are a MINIMUM (says Mr. Godin) of 800 years old.
He doesn't CUT DOWN an 800-year-old tree; he uses only fallen trees.
Godin has now given ownership of the company to his two sons -- Simon and Patrick. One big reason I like the Seagulls is because some of them have very wide nut width/neck width. Nut of 1.8 inches, rather than something like 1.72 inches. Huge difference in playability.
The Godin parent company makes electric, acoustic, and classical guitars. The classical ones are fantastic, too, and that company is called La Patrie -- which is the name of the town in Quebec where the company is located. (Godin says that more than half the population of La Patrie makes guitars.)
Finding the Godin/Seagull/La Patrie guitars gave me a whole new lease on the endeavor. I found a La Patrie Motif classical in a used shop, and it was so much more playable than other guitars that I set about researching it, to find out WHY it was so much more playable. (The first thing I found was because of the nut width. But there are lots of design decisions that all contribute to the quality and playability.)
Godin himself explains some of the design decisions in his videos. The things that set these guitars apart. The craftmanship, the materials, etc. And it all matters. He's very (rightfully) proud of his work. Proud of his materials. Proud even of the machines in his factory. He designed them all himself. It's well worth watching.
The Godin family of guitars includes companies/guitars: Godin, Seagull, Norman, Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick, and La Patrie guitars. (I just remembered. I think that the La Patrie company is no more -- and the classical/nylon guitars are now made under the name Godin -- not La Patrie.
As for the 5th Ave Kingpin, go in a shop and look at how thin the top of the Kingpin is, compared to other hollow body or semi-hollow bodies. MUCH thinner. And then there is the way the neck floats above the top of the guitar, so that the top vibrates more freely. I haven't seen another guitar like that. And when you see it, you say "OBVIOUSLY, this makes a difference."

I've got this guitar. it sounds amazing. But when plugged in to an amp recording or practicing. Be sure and wear ear monitors so you don't hear the string noise. This guitar is loud acoustically. So it's hard to set your tone unless you have ear monitors in.
