Pity that I gave up my English Masters due to lack of this knowledge in referencing. I've never got a clear knowledge on how to do it until I watched your videos sir. Anyways, thanks so much. I can at least guide my children better now in their studies.
In my group we had a brainstorming session through a call, and the organization we selected was a place that one of my group members was already working in. So we got all the info from her. do I need to add anything into a reference list, if im paraphrasing her words "from my colleagues experience working in company A..." is how I wrote, do I need to add that into a reference list, if so, how? xd
If you are using a fact that you got from someone/somewhere else, you should always give the reference in an academic paper, even in the professional writing is recommended to do that. Remember giving the reference do not reduce your knowledge as the matter fact it makes your statement stronger, create more value and validate it, so if you are not sure, it is better to give the reference.
This would have been much more useful if he spent his time on "how to cite" web pages with a passing reference to books rather than the other way around (Van Zyl, P. 2015)
