The bigger the river, The BIGGER THE FISH!

- Ahoy legends, this week I head out with good mate of mine Nick Whyte from Tech Fishing chasing a fish called 'Fred'. Thats right, we're fishing the mighty Brisbane River for the even mightier Threadfin Salmon. These fish can be the bane of many anglers' existence as they seemly disappear into thin air while following them or in other instances hide in plain sight yet refuse to open their mouths for any lure or bait! We certainly have our work cut out for us this trip as we battle not only the fish, but the weather and relentless boat traffic as well. Hope you enjoy the episode!

Well done fellas, and nice vid Sammy. Threadfin are so cool, makes me want to get out and chase a few now! Good stuff 👍🎣
Into them Will! Bloody good fun they are! 🍻🍻
How good was that!
Really enjoyed the video and a little more insight into a fish that still eludes me.
Loved the Live Sight explanations Nic. Thanks.
incredible to watch
Great video
I really noticed the new camera man and camera quality a great touch looking forward to future projects
Cheers mate! Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
Whitey is an absolute gentleman, I had the pleasure of doing some sounder training with him recently in Coffs and it was worth every cent. Great to see him in a Sammy vid again!
Gotta say though, that style of fishing just wouldn't do it for me I think, I do spend a LOT of time looking at my sounder but give me the blue water and a slow pitch jig to d in my hand any day over standing on the deck looking at a screen in the river.
Great video though and I would love to come up and catch a thready one day
It’s not for everyone, this style, I quite enjoy though. Nice change of pace from
My usual Content. I do love my blue water fishing though… 😉🍻🍻
Saw you out there on that boat that first morning Sammy, didn't realise it was you until I just saw this pop up, we had a tough morning with only one little thread but glad you got stuck into a good one!
Cheers mate! Yeah was a nice day on the water that one. Bloody hot though!!
Just took the young fella out for a day on the water he cleaned up. Can’t say the same about his old man but 😂 another ripper Sammy
Hahah at least one of you had fun 😉😂😂
Hi Sammy ,, those things you mentioned are available , they are used in the UK,, takes the bait to the breakers , I just found them,, I did a search on TH-cam for Under water drones,
Well there you go! 😂😂
Went out with Whitey to sort my sounder out great bloke thanks to Sammy just haven’t had time to get back out and put my new skills to test
What an amazing fishing session thanks for sharing mate
Thanks for tuning in! 🍻🍻
Well done guys..
Book a session at the chiropractors after every scope session, talk about getting outside to get away from technology and then stand there looking at a screen for hrs on end
Mint video mate always love seeing Nick!
🙌🙌🙌 cheers for watching mate 🍻
Can listen to the big unit everyday. If only I put into place all his tips each trip………champ!
Hahah yeah we all would be better fisherman that’s for sure!
Well done guys!
Nicks da man!
He can and will fish the big fella 👌👌
Did you guys tag that cat fish🤣 Nice show guys, I had no idea there were fish like that in the river, challenge accepted.
Hahaha nah the catty didn’t get tagged or even brought onto the boat for that matter 😂😂
I think he means the thread fin, because they both had a wound in the same spot.
Killer! Wish I could've been there for day 2. Whytey's the man.
Can and will find the fish the big fella 👌
I keep cat fish for crab bait. Works absolutely amazing
Awesome! Nice fishing! Very inspiring... 😊
Appreciate it mate 🍻🍻🍻
love it keep the amazing vids up
Thanks mate 👍👍
Tight lines!! Great looking fish!!!
Thanks mate 🍻🍻
Wicked video boys :D well done!
Thanks mate 🍻
Cheers Mate
Do you reckon whiteys sounder set up would be able to tell you guys apart if you both swam under it?
😂😂😂 of course! Whytey is the one with the beard… oh wait 😂
Gonna have a crack with the oldman 2moro. Would love to get whitey on my boat.
Good luck mate, hope you smack a couple! 👌
Gold prospecting..! Nice.....😜
Hahah you know it!
Remote Control Fish trap would clean up. Sometimes 100s of threadies stacked under those ships.
Imagine!! Would be a game changer! 👌👌
Yeah boys I caught one of these in Rockhampton when I was younger 21 years ago 😊😊😊
Plenty up in Rocky now that the netters have been booted.
Nicely done mate 💪💪💪
I’ve got some 75mm hard body vibes am I chance with them
Potentially mate, they are probably a bit more suited to bass though and might be. Bit too light to get down in the deeper water 👍
What a wild fish! Definitely gonna fight, that tail! Damn!
Definitely not a salmon though, I've seen a few of those. 😂
Funny how names bleed over across species. I guess we humans aren't that imaginative.
Hahah yeah the names seem to be common across the globe but all apply to different species! Wild hey! 🍻🍻🍻
We have a very similar species here in the Philippines but man it's crazy just how yellow/gold they are
Amazing colours hey!!
How deep were you guys fishing
14-16m deep mate 👍
do u think i could put 15 lb braid on my 2 to 4 kg for some little ones landbased on low drag
I think the rod would be too light personally mate. Might need something in the 3-6kg range to do the job 👌
thanks mate@@SammyHitzkeFishing
So good. As for tech being cheating, should we still should be using hand lines or spears?
Yeah good point! May as well use the technology hey 👌👌
Nice 👍
Not really new just more common now the average angler has a scope
Phred phinned Phsalmon
don't search This website on Google (Perfectbub,com)...
Because here available all types of fishing details and tricks.
This makes me want to fish brissy bad!
Come up and have a go mate, plenty here once you find them 👍
That's damn criminal letting all those Threadfin back. Better eating than Barra or Mackerel any day.
I got plenty of fish in the fridge at the moment already 👌👌
